Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.

The Community You Will Join:

We are looking for an Executive Producer to join our professional in-house multi-disciplinary creative team, offering full production and audiovisual services to our global Airbnb community.

The Difference You Will Make:

  • Brings a deep commitment to craft and quality, providing creative direction and thoughtful feedback across projects while leading the development and execution of compelling narratives, spanning multiple platforms, formats, and every stage from ingest to delivery.
  • Leads some of the team's highest-priority projects and initiatives, including overseeing productions with executive leadership and the CEO to develop and amplify Airbnb's brand messaging and strategic communications.
  • Contributing directly to the team's growth trajectory by helping expand service capabilities, broaden the roster of partners served, and increase the number of projects brought to successful completion year-over-year within our global community.

A Typical Day:

  • Lead local and international productions, directing and hiring large crews with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues on the spot, including coordinating with remote broadcast engineers to ensure stable, optimal-quality feeds for remote interviews.
  • Manage multiple projects and/or edits simultaneously, including the oversight of freelance talent and vendors to ensure all post-production related tasks are finished on time and within budget.
  • Manage, assemble and shape digital assets, pulling music tracks or reviewing b-roll to craft cohesive narratives in a digestible and visually appealing format.
  • Lead location scouts, oversee and review shooting scripts and raw materials to create a shot list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity.
  • Rolls up their sleeves when it counts, whether operating a camera, crewing for a fellow producer, or pitching in on equipment setup, strike, and set design to ensure every production achieves its intended visual outcome.
  • Proactively identifies and mitigates production challenges before they become an issue, and is able to communicate technical concepts clearly to on-screen talent, partners, and stakeholders, while maintaining confidentiality and securing sensitive content through trust and process.
  • Works independently with no oversight, able to lead others and use best practices, knowledge of internal or external business issues and production methodology to generate insightful and well informed creative briefs that encapsulate all pertinent project information, narrative outlines and advice on creative strategy for projects in collaboration with fellow team members and/or internal partners.
  • Serves as a creative lead who ensures clear, consistent communication of project information across the production team and project partners; brings familiarity with forecasting team hours and monitoring time tracking to proactively flag scope or budget creep; and navigates stakeholder relationships with diplomacy, as well as confidently advocating for a creative point of view while knowing when to adapt, defer, or step back.

Your Expertise:

  • At least 10+ years of proven work experience as a senior level producer, videographer and editor that can confidently lead small crews and staff members.
  • In-house creative team or production company experience coupled with advanced expertise in creative development, project management, production and post-production.
  • Extensive experience working with executive level staff, key stakeholders and cross-functional teams, as well as copywriters, illustrators, animators, editors and directors.
  • Demonstrate strong independent judgment and decision-making, requiring minimal oversight while maintaining a high standard of quality and accountability.
  • Solid project leadership skills with a proven ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and a decisive communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Welcoming and adaptable demeanor, with the ability to calmly respond to short-notice and often urgent requests requiring immediate focus and full dedication through completion, while managing multiple demands concurrently.
  • Highly organized with a proven track record of delivering small to large-scale multimedia projects from concept to delivery and creating processes to ensure they run smoothly.
  • Expert level of experience with digital technology and editing software packages (i.e. Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Resolve).
  • Extensive knowledge of production equipment required, including professional lighting, audio, camera set-ups / operations, such as the Canon C200, C300, Sony Burano, Blackmagic, URSA 4K, Sony a6500, Sony a7C, and Sony a7s, as well as various gimbals.
  • Must have the flexibility for domestic and international travel for productions, as needed.
