Finance Effectiveness – Senior Manager

CFGI, founded in 2000, is a dynamic and fast-growing financial consulting firm, serving as the trusted partner to CFOs and their organizations. We help clients tackle complex challenges across accounting, corporate finance, M&A, IPO readiness, and digital transformation. We blend deep technical expertise with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to help the world’s leading companies move forward with confidence. We are actively expanding our Finance Effectiveness team and seeking professionals ready to deliver measurable impact on the most pressing priorities of modern finance organizations.

We are looking for a Senior Manager in the Finance Transformation practice to play a critical role in leading project teams and advising CFOs on how to evolve their finance organizations. This leader will help clients modernize their operating models, streamline processes, and adopt digital tools to unlock efficiency, insight, and agility. This role combines delivery ownership with client relationship development and offers a path to leadership within a high-impact consulting practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead workstreams or medium-to-large engagements focused on finance operating model design, process optimization, and digital enablement across all finance areas.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to finance executives, helping define transformation roadmaps and deliver business outcomes.
  • Oversee day-to-day client delivery, including project planning, stakeholder management, and quality assurance.
  • Support design and implementation of digital enablers such as ERP (SAP, Oracle, Workday), EPM tools, automation, and analytics solutions.
  • Manage and mentor consultants and managers, fostering skill development and strong team performance.
  • Collaborate across firm capabilities (e.g., digital, risk, change management) to deliver integrated, cross-functional transformation initiatives.
  • Participate in business development efforts, including proposal creation, solution design, and client presentations.
  • Contribute to internal thought leadership, methodologies, and practice development initiatives.

What you must have:

  • 8–12 years of experience in finance transformation, consulting, business transformation, finance, strategy, operations, and/or corporate finance.
  • Experience leading finance transformation, ERP/EPM, business transformation, operational improvement, or related consulting engagements within a consulting or professional services environment.

What sets you apart:

  • Experience at a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, or PwC).
  • Experience leading complex finance transformation engagements, including oversight of project execution, staffing, budgets, quality, and client deliverables.
  • Experience developing trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, including CFOs, Controllers, CAOs, Finance Directors, CIOs, and other business leaders.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing consultants and managers while fostering collaboration and accountability across engagement teams.
  • Experience leading finance operating model, shared services, ERP/EPM, automation, process redesign, or digital finance initiatives across core finance functions.
  • Experience contributing to business development initiatives, proposal efforts, client expansion opportunities, practice development, training programs, or knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Nice to have:

  • CPA, CFA, PMP, or other relevant professional certification.
  • Experience with ERP, EPM, planning, or finance technologies (e.g., SAP, Oracle, OneStream, Workday, Anaplan, Hyperion, Power BI).
  • Experience leveraging AI, automation, analytics, process mining, or digital finance technologies to improve finance processes or business operations.
  • Experience leading large-scale finance transformation programs involving shared services, global process standardization, post-merger integration, carve-outs, finance organization redesign, or enterprise planning.

Who thrives here:

  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to build credibility across executive stakeholders.
  • Proactive in identifying client needs and developing long-term client relationships.
  • Highly organized with the ability to lead multiple engagements and competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, adaptable, and dependable.
  • High energy with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service while developing future leaders.
