The Finance Operations & Cost Intelligence Manager drives intelligent financial operations and cost transparency across cloud infrastructure and AI platform services. This role oversees the integrity of supply side-derived cost components, ensures accurate financial attribution, and develops scalable cost intelligence frameworks that support real-time financial insights.

In addition to operational oversight, this position partners with AI engineers to design and implement AI-enabled finance workflows, including the development of a holistic agentic system for finance operations built on strong financial data hygiene and structured financial datasets.

Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Cost Operations & Verification
  • Oversee the operational review of vendor-derived cloud cost components, including compute capacity, infrastructure services, and platform-related supplier charges.
  • Perform structured three-way verification between supplier purchase orders, contracts, and invoices, ensuring charges align with agreed pricing, service terms, and contracted capacity.
  • Confirm the reliability and completeness of service receipts, including validation that billed cloud capacity or services were actually delivered and consumed as expected.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies with vendors and internal teams to ensure accurate financial records and cost attribution.
Billing Integrity & Vendor Credit Management
  • Validate invoices and credit memos associated with cloud infrastructure services and platform vendors.
  • Trace, track, and reconcile the application of supplier credit memos, particularly in cases of service performance issues, overcharges, or capacity shortfalls.
  • Ensure credits are properly applied to financial records and reflected in cost reporting and vendor balances.
Cost Intelligence & Allocation
  • Maintain structured mapping of vendor costs into internal cost allocation frameworks.
  • Perform accounting allocations that disaggregate infrastructure and service costs down to the customer or workload level, enabling accurate product and customer unit economics.
  • Work with finance and analytics teams to ensure cost datasets support customer-level profitability analysis and infrastructure cost visibility.

AI-Enabled Finance and Accounting

  • Implement and manage AI-assisted workflows for financial document processing, cost classification, and anomaly detection.
  • Work closely with AI engineers and data teams to develop an agentic finance operations framework that automates financial review, cost attribution, and operational decision support.
  • Drive the creation of AI-ready financial data infrastructure by establishing high-quality financial data hygiene and domain-informed controls. This enables trusted AI-driven financial automation with human-in-the-loop oversight, combining finance expertise with AI to build an AI-native finance function that scales with Firework’s growth.

Process Optimization & Systems

  • Continuously improve finance operations processes through automation, structured data design, and workflow optimization.
  • Maintain integration between vendor billing data, financial systems, and analytics tools.
Strategic Initiative Example

  • financial document interpretation
  • cost classification and allocation
  • anomaly detection in vendor billing
  • operational finance decision support

This system relies on high-quality financial data hygiene and structured financial datasets to enable reliable AI-driven automation.

QualificationsMinimum Requirement:
