About the Role:

We are seeking a Accounting Analyst who will handle all aspects of day-to-day corporate entries and reconciliations for Jaris, as well as provide analysis to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will help the business grow while enforcing our corporate and financial policies. The accounting analyst will quickly become an expert on our corporate financial management working directly with the Finance Director and CFO.

Responsibilities:

  • Key member of Finance team, working with the team on an array of tasks
  • Manage the general ledger, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis
  • Drive accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly closings and year-end audits
  • Perform analysis over monthly financials and asset performance in order to drive decision making
  • Work collaboratively with other business units on financial initiatives and software implementation
  • Assist in day-to-day financial operations by engaging with external parties such as financial institutions, vendors, investors, auditors, and tax preparers
  • Build tailored investor reporting on asset portfolios

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a finance, accounting, or audit role
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Eagerness and creativity to build structure around loosely defined projects
  • Resilience to work through start-up challenges when clean and/or complete information is not available
  • Ability to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Ability to work onsite 4 days per week

Preferred:

  • Licensed CPA
  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Local SF Bay Area Candidates Preferred

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with fintech, payments, alternative lending, and/or fund accounting
  • Basic knowledge of Python and SQL for quantitative analyses and workflow automation

Applicants located in the San Francisco Bay Area can expect an annual base compensation in the range of $85,000 to $105,000 USD. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Jaris and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
