TITLE:  Financial Data Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Data Analyst will play a key role in strengthening Neptune Medical’s financial reporting, analytics, and operational visibility as we continue scaling our organization. This individual will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Commercial teams to design and improve reporting processes, build data-driven insights, and support forecasting and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, structured problem-solving, and experience working with financial datasets in a high-growth environment.

The ideal candidate will act with passion and intensity in a medical device start-up that is fast paced and collaborative and will display the ability to perform to the requirements outlined below. For the right person, this position will be a tremendously exciting and career-defining opportunity, making core contributions to a genuinely new type of medical robotic platform.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, automate, and maintain core financial and operational reports, including dashboards for revenue, expenses, headcount, cash management, and program-level spending.
  • Improve existing reporting processes by enhancing data accuracy, timeliness, and alignment across systems (ERP, CRM, payroll, budgeting tools).
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial close with analytical reviews of variances, trends, and KPIs.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to enhance forecasting models (cashflow, operating expense, program spend, scenario analyses).
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to define and track key business metrics (manufacturing, supply chain, R&D burn, commercialization readiness).
  • Ensure data integrity across multiple systems by establishing checks, validation routines, and standardized reporting structures.
  • Assist with preparation of board materials, investor reporting, and internal management presentations.
  • Support ad hoc analysis related to product costing, pricing, ROI, and financial modeling for strategic projects.
  • Participate in ongoing implementation, optimization, or integration of financial systems and data tools.

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, data analytics, or similar roles (startup or medical device environment a plus).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Sheets and experience with financial modeling.
  • Experience working with data systems or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, NetSuite, Adaptive, QuickBooks, SQL familiarity helpful).
  • Ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Neptune Medical is located in Burlingame, CA, near the Millbrae Caltrain and BART Station

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $116,500 to $134,000 depending on experience. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity, benefits and 401(K) with matching.
