About Hightouch

Hightouch is an Agentic Marketing Platform powered by the industry-leading Composable CDP. With complete brand context, customer data, and performance history in one place, every marketer finally has the power to build and ship end-to-end campaigns themselves. Teams move faster, stay on brand, and get AI marketing that actually works.

Founded in 2019 and headquartered in San Francisco, Hightouch enables marketing teams to analyze performance, brainstorm ideas, and generate creative at a speed and quality that wasn't previously possible.

Named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Customer Data Platforms, Hightouch is trusted by leading enterprises like Domino's, Spotify, Aritzia, Cars.com, Ramp, and PetSmart.

At Hightouch, our mission is to help our customers leverage data and AI to grow their businesses. The team is ambitious, impact-driven, efficient — and we believe humility, kindness, and compassion are essential to our success. If you're energized by velocity, obsessed with raising the bar, and want to build alongside people who care deeply about each other and our customers, we'd love to meet you.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly analytical and customer-obsessed Forward Deployed Analytics Engineer to bridge the gap between our customers' complex legacy reporting environments and the future of agentic data exploration. Sitting within the Solutions & Success organization, you will be the tip of the spear in helping our enterprise customers activate the full power of Hightouch’s Agentic CDP.

Your core mission is to deeply understand our customers' existing marketing and BI reports, reverse-engineer their logic, and cleanly translate them into Hightouch. More importantly, you will architect and maintain the underlying context and semantic layers that power our chat-based reporting features. You will ensure that when a marketer asks our AI an ad-hoc reporting question, the system generates SQL that is not only accurate but highly reliable, idempotent, and perfectly aligned with the customer's unique business definitions.

What You'll Do
  • Strategic Scoping & Alignment: Scope difficult reporting questions and clarify the core business decisions the resulting reports must support.
  • Complex Reporting & Translation: Audit and deconstruct complex customer marketing reports across legacy BI tools. Build, implement, and translate these into complex reports, analyses, and reusable reporting frameworks within Hightouch’s aCDP.
  • Deep Data Investigation: Rigorously investigate data sources, identity resolution logic, metric definitions, and audience behavior within the aCDP to ensure absolute accuracy.
  • Customer Enablement & Training: Train non-technical and non-AI forward marketers on how to use AI effectively to brainstorm and strategize, particularly when Ads and LCM Studio are not in-scope.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Explain your analytical findings in a clear, actionable way that helps our customers make critical business decisions.
  • Context Layer Engineering & Documentation: Design, build, and tune the semantic context layer. Rigorously document assumptions, data limitations, and recommended next steps for ongoing use, ensuring report generation maintains strict consistency and idempotency.

What We're Looking For
  • Deep SQL Expertise: You write clean, performant, and scalable SQL. You are deeply comfortable navigating cloud data platforms, particularly Snowflake and Databricks.
  • BI & Marketing Analytics DNA: You have extensive experience building or dissecting BI reports. You understand marketing schemas, attribution models, and what metrics actually matter to a growth team.
  • Systems Thinker: You understand how to build robust semantic layers. You can take a messy, real-world database and organize it into a structured, highly contextualized format that an LLM can reliably query.
  • Customer-Facing Polish: You possess the empathy and communication skills necessary to navigate complex technical discussions, train marketers, and deliver clear findings to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Martech Knowledge: You understand the modern data stack and marketing technology infrastructure (CDPs, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data activation systems).
Bonus Points
  • Prior experience working with LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI-driven analytics tools.
  • Background in a Forward Deployed, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Customer Success role.
  • Familiarity with array aggregation and object manipulation in modern cloud data warehouses.
Compensation

$100,000-$160,000 USD per year, location-independent. We also offer meaningful equity in the form of ISO options, with early exercise and a 10-year post-termination exercise window.

E-Verify Statement

Hightouch participates in E-Verify. After you join the team, we'll verify your eligibility to work in the U.S. by submitting information from your Form I-9 to the Social Security Administration and, if needed, the Department of Homeland Security. This process happens post-hire only — we never use E-Verify to pre-screen applicants.
