Role: As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer at Beacon Software, you will be instrumental in driving technical excellence and business growth across our portfolio companies. This role requires a unique blend of world-class technical skills and a strong commercial acumen. You will immerse yourself in diverse tech stacks and codebases, deploying into our portfolio companies to identify and solve critical issues, chart technical roadmaps, and leverage AI technologies to transform our portfolio of software and services businesses. You will work directly with experienced entrepreneurs and industry leaders, gaining invaluable experience and insights into investing in and operating successful software companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with portfolio companies to understand their unique challenges and objectives.

  • Analyze, design, and implement innovative solutions across various technology stacks to drive business outcomes.

  • Build and implement technology-led value creation playbooks and shared services (payment processing, SEO, sales and GTM tooling) for our portfolio companies

  • Utilize AI coding tools to accelerate your development processes and enhance product offerings

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams within portfolio companies

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a software engineer with a track record of delivering impactful solutions across various technologies.

  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.

  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and experience with AI coding tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business and technical challenges.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
