Job Title: Founding AI/ML Engineer

Salary: $200-250K + Equity

Company Description: Generalcatalyst.com - AI startup pioneered by Princeton researchers and a GPT co-creator.

Job Description:
Join the founding team at Curium to build Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), the next frontier of marketing for AI search. You will bridge research and production, transforming novel black-box optimization algorithms into scalable ML systems. This high-impact role involves building the infrastructure that helps brands gain visibility in systems like Perplexity and ChatGPT.

Location: San Francisco, USA

Why this role is remarkable:

  • Work directly with a world-class founding team including a Princeton Professor who co-created GPT at OpenAI and holds 78K+ citations.

  • Define a brand-new category of AI technology, GEO, which has already demonstrated 40% visibility improvements on commercial generative engines.

  • Secure a founding-level equity stake in a company backed by top-tier Silicon Valley venture firms and well-capitalized for rapid scale.

What you will do:

  • Design and build end-to-end ML pipelines including data processing, model training, and production-grade deployment.

  • Translate cutting-edge black-box optimization research into robust, high-performance systems that serve enterprise customers at scale.

  • Own the core ML infrastructure and collaborate on algorithm iteration to outpace the evolution of dynamic AI search engines.

The ideal candidate:

  • Possesses strong NLP and LLM fundamentals with hands-on experience training and fine-tuning models rather than just calling APIs.

  • Demonstrates a proven track record of shipping production ML systems that serve real-world users in high-growth environments.

  • Exhibits research fluency to engage with PhD founders while maintaining a builder mentality to ship fast and own problems end-to-end.
