Founding Growth Lead

Location: San Francisco (in-person), remote-US considered for exceptional candidates

Type: Full-time

Reports to: CEO/Co-Founder

About the role

VideoGen is used by 5M+ people in 190 countries. We sell horizontally through PLG (self-serve, many kinds of users), but our core B2B use-cases are marketing video production and training video production. We are hiring a founding growth lead to grow our customer base and improve B2B monetization.

You'll become the in-house expert on our ICPs. You will help us turn early signals into repeatable traction, and scale our marketing budget to $1M/year+ after Series A.

What you'll do

Always:

  • Use VideoGen the way an ICP would and provide detailed product feedback.

  • Talk to users, customers, and prospects to capture product and market insights.

  • Set clear, measurable goals (KPIs, OKRs) and communicate with leadership.

  • Decide what we do in-house vs with vendors and manage marketing vendor relationships.

  • Use AI coding agents (e.g., Cursor) to research, run analysis, and build internal tools/automations.

Pre-Series A:

  • Manage our lightweight marketing channels: Email, SEO, organic, affiliate.

  • Lead small growth experiments to generate insights or incremental revenue.

  • Create foundational marketing materials (ICPs, Personas, Sales Decks, etc.).

Post-Series A:

  • Run a comprehensive marketing loop (SEO, paid social, search, influencers, PR, etc.) to build awareness and drive conversions among our target customers.

  • Set growth targets with leadership, execute, and hold the team accountable.

  • Help build and manage a small in-house growth team.

What we're looking for
  • You have an understanding of product-led growth (PLG). You've worked on a self-serve funnel and know what great looks like.

  • You have experience producing or managing video ads.

  • You can be an opinionated advocate for our marketer ICPs.

  • You have founding-level execution and have worked at a small company.

  • You're comfortable in user/customer conversations.

  • You have experience with various marketing channels and can learn quickly.

Nice to have: technical SEO or growth engineering, in-house creative at a consumer brand, or having scaled a real paid / influencer / PR budget.

What this role is not

Not a media buyer. You will not be growing a large ads budget until our Series A.
