Own all marketing for Circleback as the first full-time hire: drive distribution through growth experiments, brand and messaging, product launch promotion, automated conversion systems, data-driven targeting, and sales-assisted expansion. Build processes, run channels (paid, organic, community, partnerships, content), and work with contractors to scale awareness and convert attention into customers.

We're looking for someone to own marketing at Circleback. You'd be the first person in this role–which means there's no playbook and no existing team. Just a product people love and a lot of room to run.

Once people start using Circleback, they stick around. Retention is incredibly high. The challenge isn't convincing people the product is good–it's getting it in front of more people in the first place. You'd figure out how to do that: find creative ways to grow awareness, make the brand match the quality of the product, build buzz around what we're shipping, and build the systems that turn attention into customers.

What you'll do
  • Find creative, scrappy ways to get Circleback in front of more people–the product sells itself once people try it, so the job is figuring out distribution

  • Build and run growth experiments across channels (paid, organic, community, partnerships, content) with a bias toward finding what actually scales, not just what looks busy

  • Drum up buzz for product launches–coordinate releases, build anticipation, and make sure the right people know about what we're shipping

  • Define and own Circleback's brand positioning and messaging–figure out what we want people to think when they see Circleback, and make that show up consistently everywhere

  • Map the user journey from first touch to company-wide deployment, identify where people drop off, and work with the team to fix it

  • Set up automated growth systems (retargeting, intent-based lead capture, website conversion tools) that compound over time

  • Dig into product and user data to inform decisions about who to target, what's working, and where the biggest opportunities are

  • Explore sales-assisted motions for expanding within companies that already have individual users on Circleback

  • Work with contractors or agencies as needed for design, ads, or other specialized work

Who you are

You've done this before at an early-stage company–owned the full marketing function, not just a piece of it. You're comfortable with brand and positioning work but equally excited about running experiments, building automations, and looking at data. You move fast, you're resourceful, and you don't need someone to tell you what to do next.

You have strong opinions about what good marketing looks like but hold them loosely enough to let results change your mind. You can write well, think clearly about positioning, and know how to make a product feel like it belongs in a category of its own.

Although a design background is not required, we do expect a strong sense of taste and attention to detail in how the brand shows up publicly.

About Circleback

Circleback is building the source of truth for everything said at a company–starting with best-in-class AI meeting notes, action items, and search.

Every meeting will be AI-enabled. But meeting notes are just the beginning. We're building toward something larger: a platform that captures, organizes, and actions on the context from all conversations across a company–meetings, calls, emails–so teams can actually use what they know.

We're a small team backed by Y Combinator. Profitable, growing virally, and thousands of paying customers including PostHog, Browserbase, Gumloop, and more.

Why join
  • We ship fast with a high bar for quality

  • Small team, large problem–the product category we're building didn't exist until recently

  • Profitable and growing virally through word of mouth

  • Software that people actually love and use daily

If you care about craft and want to build something ambitious with a small team that moves quickly, we'd like to hear from you.

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
