About the company

Our client is a fast-growing technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Act as one of the earliest engineers, owning large and loosely defined technical problems from design through delivery. Build core backend and AI-driven systems, and speak directly with customers to turn their needs into shipped solutions. Help set the engineering standards and culture from the start.

What you'll do

- Take full ownership of major problem areas, from architecture through implementation and iteration, with minimal supervision.

- Build core infrastructure for AI-driven features, including data matching, retrieval-based search, pricing logic and a scalable platform for long-running automated tasks.

- Speak directly with customers to understand their operations, gather feedback and turn it into working solutions.

- Work with large, messy real-world datasets to automate manual, document-heavy workflows.

- Help define engineering standards and team culture as an early hire.

What we're looking for

- 2+ years of engineering experience with strong computer science fundamentals and a record of shipping high-impact work.

- Evidence of rapid career growth and a willingness to take on founding-level ownership.

- Self-directed, driven and comfortable tackling hard problems without being told what to do.

- Personable and practical enough to be customer-facing.

- Comfort designing software that spans many services and handles substantial volumes of data.

- Hands-on experience with Python or TypeScript.

- Commercial awareness and good product sense.

- A standout achievement in school or work.

- Ability to work on-site five days a week.

Bonus points

- Earlier experience in a very early-stage or customer-embedded engineering position.

- Time spent at well-regarded engineering organizations.
