Job summary

Effectively manage the flow of traffic in/out of the main entrance and welcomes guests to the hotel

Shift requirements:

Currently searching for swing shifts 2PM-10:30PM weekdays, weekends, and holidays. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure prompt and courteous service is offered throughout department when assisting, welcoming, and departing guests.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.    
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems, as necessary.
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Valencia standards, as required by scheduling,
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
  • Comply at all times with Hotel Valencia Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Supervise and insure completion of all duties of Front Drive Agents.
  • Log all requests and confirm completion.
  • Maintain key control.
  • Coordinate emergency procedures
  • Conduct change of shift briefing.
  • Welcome guests to the hotel and expedite the handling of luggage.
  • Pick up and deliver dry-cleaning for the guests.
  • Provide information on local attractions, room features, hotel facilities.
  • Deliver messages and/or packages to meetings and guest rooms.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees.
  • Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions.
  • Assign duties and schedules to employees on weekly basis.
  • Any other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Working Environment:

 exterior of hotel and occasional interior with exposure to weather conditions.


Physical Requirements:


  • Standing/Walking:  Constantly.  For varying lengths of time, with little or no sitting.
  • Stooping (Bend at waist):  Load/unload guest luggage and bell carts.
  • Pushing/Pulling:  Bell carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Lifting/Carrying:  Guest luggage weighing up to 50 pounds.
    Qualifications:
  • Hotel Operations or Customer Service experience preferred.
  • Communicates effectively with others.
  • Works productively with a team
  • Effective multitasking skills
  • Composure and patience under pressure
  • Skilled in working with multiple computer programs.
  • Valid CA driver’s license and a clean driving record.
