The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own product development across the data layer, user interface and developer tooling for a software platform. - Design interfaces that help engineers make sense of large, complex volumes of system activity.

- Develop workflows that turn production data into datasets, checks and verified improvements.

- Build and maintain an SDK and command-line experience for developers.

- Create hosted testing and simulation environments for validating changes.

- Comfort working directly with customers to solve real-world problems.

- Strong problem-solving skills in fast-changing, ambiguous environments.

- Clear, direct communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate, with 5 days per week in the office.

Bonus points

- Experience with evaluation, observability or monitoring products.

- Background at a strong product or infrastructure company.

- Forward-deployed or solutions engineering experience.

- Early-stage 0-to-1 startup experience.

- Founder background or entrepreneurial drive.

- Comfort with backend and infrastructure work across the full stack.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
