About Lindy

Lindy is building the AI assistant for everyone else — not the tinkerers, not the builders, but the people who just want their day back. Lindy Assistant lives in iMessage, handles email, calendar, and meetings, and takes two minutes to set up. We're building the layer between powerful AI models and real people's lives.

The Role

As a Full-Stack Software Engineer (Early Career) at Lindy, you'll join a small, talented team building the core Lindy Assistant experience — a full-stack TypeScript application powered by React and Node.

This isn't a role where you'll spend your first year in code review purgatory or working on isolated tickets. From early on, you'll own features end-to-end: from scoping and building to launching and monitoring in production. We have little process by design — which means you'll move fast, make real decisions, and feel the impact of your work directly in the product.

We're looking for engineers who are early in their career but not early in their drive. You're curious, you debug with urgency, and you care about shipping things that actually work. You'll collaborate closely with the founder, PMs, and designers — and you'll grow quickly in an environment that has high expectations and high trust in equal measure.

Read our public Engineering Standard of Excellence

We are an in-office company, working from our San Francisco office 4 days a week. We do sponsor visas and cover relocation fees for up to $20,000.

What You'll Do
  • Build and ship complete features end-to-end — from writing clean, maintainable code to testing, rollout, and monitoring in production

  • Collaborate closely with the founder, PMs, and designers to understand product requirements and navigate trade-offs

  • Take ownership of your work with a strong attention to detail and a bias toward getting things done — not just getting things started

  • Contribute across the full stack with a lean toward backend and distributed systems as you grow your depth over time

  • Learn fast, ask good questions, and raise the bar — you'll be expected to level up quickly in an environment that rewards curiosity and urgency

About You
  • 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience — but you've been building long before that

  • You code outside of work because you genuinely love it: side projects, open source contributions, personal tools, experiments that may have gone nowhere but taught you something

  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership — you don't wait to be told what to do next

  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving instincts; you dig in until you understand why, not just what

  • Strong communicator who can collaborate across engineering, product, and design

  • Able to work in person 4 days a week from our San Francisco office

Bonus Skills
  • Familiarity with our tech stack — TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, React, or GraphQL — through coursework, projects, or internships

  • Exposure to distributed systems concepts: queuing, caching, retries, or reliability patterns — even if just through side projects or self-study

  • Any experience with real-time systems or event-driven architectures (WebSockets, etc.)

  • Experience integrating third-party APIs in personal or school projects

  • Curiosity about or hands-on experimentation with LLM APIs — you've built something with them, even if small

Benefits
  • Competitive salary and generous equity

  • Health coverage

  • The fun of working at a no-nonsense startup that just wants to build an amazing product and business

  • Covered in-office lunch + dinner

Compensation
  • Salary Range 150K to 190K Base

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
