Meet the Team

Our team is part of the Cisco AI and Automation portfolio, responsible for the "Circuit" platform—the central AI engine that powers productivity and process automation for all of Cisco. We are a rapidly expanding, high-impact group dedicated to building the vehicle for AI-driven business transformation. We operate at the intersection of applied research and production, ensuring our technology is not only cutting-edge but also optimized for performance, reliability, and functional quality for our 80,000+ monthly users.

As a UI Developer on the Circuit team, you sit at the front line of that experience—translating complex AI capabilities into intuitive, responsive, and beautiful web interfaces that our users rely on every day.

You will partner closely with UX and UI designers, not through one-time handoffs. You join conversations early to assess feasibility, align on direction before build starts, and refine UI with designers as edge cases appear during development. Design reviews are regular and cross-functional. Accessibility and user research inform what ships, and you help turn those decisions into polished, production-ready interfaces.

Your Impact

You will partner closely with UX and UI designers, not through one-time handoffs. You join conversations early to assess feasibility, align on direction before build starts, and refine UI with designers as edge cases appear during development. Design reviews are regular and cross-functional. Accessibility and user research inform what ships, and you help turn those decisions into polished, production-ready interfaces.

As a UI Developer, you will design and build the modern web experiences that put Circuit's AI capabilities directly into the hands of tens of thousands of Cisco employees. You will own the front-end for AI-driven workflows—conversational and agentic UIs, streaming responses, prompt and agent management, and data-rich dashboards—building them with Angular and Node.js and deploying them on Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

Design partnership: Work with UX and UI designers throughout the product lifecycle, from early feasibility conversations through build and release. Participate in design reviews, give honest input on what is feasible in code, and help scope work so designs can ship without last-minute compromises.
Design system implementation: Build interfaces using a shared component library and design tokens, extending existing patterns instead of writing one-off styles. Keep UI consistent, theme-aware, and maintainable as the product grows.
Accessibility for AI experiences: Implement WCAG 2.2 AA patterns for dynamic AI interfaces, including ARIA live regions for streaming responses, semantic structure for conversation UIs, focus management across modals and context switches, full keyboard support, and color contrast in light and dark modes.
Research-informed implementation: Apply findings from usability testing and end-user feedback during development. Know when a design is ready to build versus still in exploration, and raise gaps or edge cases with designers before they become production issues.
Human-AI interaction UI: Build front-end patterns that help users understand AI behavior: streaming and token-by-token rendering, clear loading and error states, recovery flows when responses fail, and UI that supports trust and comprehension in non-deterministic experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years, Master's degree with 4+ years, or PhD with 1+ year of related experience in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience developing web applications with Angular (v10+), including debugging and troubleshooting front-end issues.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Hands-on experience building server-side/full-stack functionality with Node.js.
  • Experience integrating with REST APIs and working with JSON data structures.
  • Experience with UI design systems and component-based architectures, including translating Figma designs and designer-delivered specs (design tokens, semantic theming, shared components) into functional UI.
  • Experience deploying and running applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proficiency with Git and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to or extending a shared component library aligned to a design system.
  • Comfort participating in cross-functional design reviews: reviewing prototypes with designers, flagging technical constraints early, and iterating on UI during active development.
  • Experience building human-AI interaction UIs: streaming responses, chat or agent interfaces, prompt or workflow management, and error handling for unpredictable AI output.
  • Experience supporting end-user testing by fixing severity-triaged usability and accessibility issues before release.
  • Ability to work from both high-fidelity design specs and in-progress prototypes, and to clarify open questions with designers before writing production code.
