Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Fullstack Developer with a strong backend focus to join our team. The ideal candidate will be primarily responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining PHP-based applications, with backend development as a core focus. This role works closely with cross-functional technical teams to deliver performant, scalable, and secure solutions that support CTMS’s managed services platform and internal tools.

What You’ll Do

Backend Development (Primary)

  • Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic using PHP.

  • Work effectively across projects that may include older PHP versions and complex legacy systems.

  • Build and optimize database schemas, queries, and stored procedures with MySQL (deep experience required).

  • Implement and troubleshoot clustering, replication, and high-availability database scenarios.

Frontend Development (Supporting)

  • Contribute to frontend features using JavaScript where applicable.

  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers and engineers to build responsive interfaces.

Collaboration & Architecture

  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural planning.

  • Help diagnose and resolve production issues, including performance bottlenecks.

  • Write clear, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.

Must-Have Qualifications

- Strong PHP expertise, including working knowledge of older PHP versions (important for existing CTMS systems)
- Advanced MySQL experience
- Cluster / high-availability database deployment experience
- Proficiency with JavaScript for frontend integration tasks
- Experience building secure, fault-tolerant backend systems
- Comfortable in a remote, collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, etc.)
- Familiarity with caching, search, message queues
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration methods
- Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
- Exposure to managed IT or cybersecurity products/platforms

What We Offer

- Fully remote work with flexible scheduling
- Competitive base salary — up to $125,000
- Benefits (health, dental, vision, retirement, etc.)
- Opportunity to work with a security-first, strategic technology services team
- Collaborative, supportive work culture

Who You Are

You’re a seasoned backend-leaning Fullstack Developer who thrives solving complex backend challenges (especially in PHP & MySQL), enjoys learning from legacy systems, and can contribute to frontend functionality when needed. You take pride in building reliable and secure applications that support critical business operations.
