Skylawn Funeral Home is looking for a Funeral Arranger to join our team in Half Moon Bay, CA where we offer a passionate and purpose-filled work environment. The Funeral Arranger serves as a trusted guide and compassionate resource for families as they navigate the loss of a loved one. This role is responsible for coordinating funeral and memorial arrangements, providing support throughout the planning process, and ensuring every detail is handled with care, professionalism, and respect. The ideal candidate is service-driven, highly organized, and committed to creating meaningful experiences that honor each life while helping families through one of their most difficult moments.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange and lead funeral and memorial services with professionalism, compassion, and respect for families.
  • Manage all aspects of service planning, including scheduling, locations, transportation, and coordination with vendors such as florists and caterers.
  • Prepare and file required legal documents (death certificates, permits) and work closely with cemeteries to arrange burials.
  • Provide logistical support by driving funeral vehicles and delivering flowers, caskets, urns, and personal keepsakes.
  • Provide evening on-call coverage as part of a rotating schedule to ensure timely response to urgent operational needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure family needs are met with care and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate client records and service documentation.
  • Handle administrative tasks—including data entry, filing, and phone inquiries—with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Uphold compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing funeral service

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English & Spanish, required
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year of funeral industry experience preferred, but not required. We will train the right person.
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality strongly preferred.
  • Warm, professional presence with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office Suite, data entry systems).
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
  • Strong multitasking skills; able to stay composed in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Confident speaking in front of groups and engaging with diverse communities.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 20 to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule with weekend availability.

Compensation range of $26- $29/hr. plus monthly bonus potential
