Security is our foundation and we prioritize physical identity verification and secure IT setup. While our security and IT logistics require physical presence to protect our infrastructure from sophisticated global threats, this move is equally about our Village culture. We believe that a laptop can be shipped, but our culture cannot.

  • Apply advanced skills in Google Sheets to efficiently and reliably work with large data sets.
  • Resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways, suggesting different potential approaches and adapting to new circumstances rapidly.

Complexity and Impact of Work:

  • Field ambiguous asks or ideas with creativity, independently applying judgement for reasonable decisions needed.
  • Partner closely with team members to facilitate a timely month-end close, with a specific focus on corporate cash bookings, accruals, intercompany transactions, capitalized software, and stock based compensation while maintaining a flow for day to day operations.
  • Proactively suggest and implement improvements to the design and execution of new or existing processes.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as they arise, while proactively communicating the impact to other in-progress projects and recurring responsibilities.

Organizational Knowledge:

  • Understand the strategy of Anchorage and contribute to planning and goal-setting exercises for the team.
  • Investigate and resolve variances resulting from flux analysis and account reconciliations.
  • Conduct comprehensive expense analysis and act as a key point of contact for the FP&A team.

  • Standardize and document processes with an intentional approach to create shared consciousness and eliminate single points of failure.
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Ability to document and communicate accounting procedures in a way that accelerates repeatable, efficient processes.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  • 6+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience in general ledger accounting.
  • A proven track record of designing processes to operationalize and scale accounting processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to drive cross functional projects and influence cross functional stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Ability to multi-task, thrive in the face of ambiguity and excel in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving organization.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:

  • You’re proficient with NetSuite and other cloud based accounting software.
  • You have experience with system implementations.
