Role Summary:The Global Consolidations Accountant supports the monthly and quarterly close and consolidation process for a large, global public company. This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to build technical expertise in consolidation accounting, SEC reporting, and U.S. GAAP within a corporate accounting environment. The role is responsible for assigned processes within the company’s consolidation and reporting cycle, including consolidation and elimination entries, preparation of financial statements and footnotes, and support of key group accounting areas. The position requires strong analytical skills and detailed review of financial records to produce accurate internal and external financial reporting. The Global Consolidations Accountant reports to the Senior Manager – Consolidations.
Location:This role is approved for remote work across the United States or out of Ferguson's corporate offices in Newport News, VA, according to company policy. East coast hours preferred.
Responsibilities:Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidation and intercompany elimination journal entries
Reconcile account balances to the general ledger and investigate variances
Assist with calculations and analysis of key accounting reserves
Prepare consolidated financial statement footnotes for Forms 10-Q and 10-K filed with the SEC
Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reporting for management
Perform key internal control activities in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
Partner with internal and external auditors to support interim reviews and annual audits
Assist with initiatives to improve consolidation, elimination, and reporting processes and close efficiency
Assist with technical accounting research and application as needed
Support training and development of new team members
3–5 years of public accounting and/or industry experience
Minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA preferred
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with high attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
High level of integrity, accountability, and ownership mindset
Team-oriented with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
Experience with or interest in using AI tools is a plus

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
