Global Market Data Manager
The Global Market Data Manager will play a critical role in shaping and executing IMC's market data strategy across regions, ensuring data is sourced, governed, and delivered in a way that directly supports trading, research, and risk management. This role sits at the intersection of trading, technology, compliance, and external vendors, with responsibility for driving standardization, transparency, and scalability while respecting regional needs. As IMC expands its global trading footprint, the role will lead efforts to centralize market data practices, enhance usage tracking and compliance, and evaluate when to build versus buy data solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep industry expertise, strong external relationships, and the credibility to act as a trusted partner to both traders and technologists.
Your Core Responsibilities:
  • Set strategy and lead the U.S. Market Data team, owning the end-to-end market data footprint and its evolution over time
  • Act as a key contributor to global market data strategy, collaborating with regional peers to align standards, tooling, and long-term initiatives
  • Own and drive market data projects that directly support trading objectives, operational efficiency, and firm-wide priorities
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new market and alternative data sets, ensuring each data source delivers measurable value to specific trading strategies
  • Provide high-level technical and architectural guidance on how market data should be sourced, normalized, distributed, and consumed across the firm
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with external data vendors, exchanges, and strategic partners
  • Serve as a mentor and subject-matter expert, providing training and guidance to junior team members on core market data concepts and best practices
  • Partner closely with trading, technology, compliance, and risk teams (locally and globally) to ensure market data solutions are well integrated and aligned
  • Ensure market data usage complies with regulatory requirements, exchange rules, and internal policies, proactively managing risk and cost
  • Contribute to and help shape data governance, data quality, and control frameworks, with a focus on accuracy, transparency, and scalability
  • Drive cost-effective market data practices, balancing commercial considerations with performance, risk management, and growth

Your Skills and Experience:
  • 8-12+ years of experience in market data, data analysis, and data management within proprietary trading, market-making, or other high-performance trading environments
  • Deep expertise in market data use cases within trading firms, including how data is consumed across research, trading, risk, and production systems
  • Strong knowledge of core and alternative market data, including:
    • Security master, reference data, pricing, and corporate actions
    • Exchange and OTC data
    • Alternative data sets
    • Broad asset-class coverage, with particular strength in derivatives
  • Solid understanding of high-frequency and low-latency trading architectures, including technical integration of market data into trading systems
  • Demonstrated expertise in market data management best practices, including policies, controls, entitlements, and usage governance
  • Proven experience managing vendor and exchange relationships, including contract negotiation, commercial discussions, and ongoing performance oversight
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage credibly with traders, engineers, compliance, and senior leadership
