Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

On the Waymo Marketing team, you will help to connect people with the magic and impact of Waymo's autonomous driving technology. Our team has the unique opportunity to not only grow Waymo's brand from the ground up, but to also build societal acceptance for autonomous driving technology for the first time in history. We build thoughtful marketing strategy, positioning, messaging and creative assets to deliver messages that matter to our audience, communicated through anything from video content, to social media interactions, to immersive physical experiences. We also shape Waymo's go-to-market initiatives, helping to transform Waymo into a thriving business with a growing user base.

In this hybrid role, you will report to our Director, Product and Growth Marketing.

You will:

  • Set the vision, strategy, and priorities for Product Marketing, ensuring the customer and market perspective informs Waymo’s product strategy, go-to-market decisions, and rider experience.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Operations leadership, influencing roadmaps, business priorities, and key decisions while driving alignment across teams.
  • Develop holistic marketing strategies for Waymo’s ride-hailing product and beyond, from positioning and launch through adoption and growth.
  • Lead product marketing for U.S. and international market launches, expansions, and ongoing market health, integrating consumer, brand, business, competitive, and product signals to identify opportunities and guide market priorities.
  • Build and develop a high-performing global Product Marketing team, fostering strong strategic thinking, execution, and collaboration to support Waymo’s rapid growth and evolving needs.

You have:

  • 15+ years of product marketing or related marketing experience within consumer technology, including significant experience leading Product Marketing teams and complex consumer products or services.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing Product Marketing teams, setting a clear vision and priorities while fostering strong strategic thinking, execution, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Deep experience partnering with Product leadership and influencing product strategy and roadmaps, bringing customer, market, and business perspectives into product development and key decisions.
  • Experience leading U.S. and international market launches and expansions, with the ability to synthesize consumer, brand, competitive, product, and business insights to inform market priorities.
  • Exceptional strategic judgment and executive influence, with the ability to navigate complexity, develop clear recommendations, and align senior stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Operations, and other functions.

We prefer:

  • Experience at a ride-hailing, marketplace, or app-based B2C company.
  • Concrete marketing experience driving the adoption of emerging technologies or new consumer behaviors, particularly where building understanding and trust is critical.
  • Track record across both established and early-stage products or markets.
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with near-term execution as business and product needs evolve.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel to markets for research, and some travel for offsite meetings, approximately 10% of the time.
