About the Team

The Corporate Security team is responsible for the security and protection of all OpenAI employees and executives. We are committed to creating and maintaining a secure environment that allows our team members to focus on their work without fear of harm or disruption.

About the Role

The Resilience Manager ensures the security and continuity of OpenAI’s people and operations worldwide. This role integrates travel, event, and crisis management programs through hands-on operations, proactive risk identification, and cross-functional collaboration. You will protect employees during travel, events, and incidents while advancing training, crisis preparedness, and event-security initiatives. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with strong event-security experience and the ability to navigate complex, dynamic environments.

This role will require up to 50% travel for support of global CorpSec responsibilities. This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive multiple aspects of OpenAI’s travel and event security operations, including improving our travel ticketing system, delivering pre-trip briefings, vetting itineraries, conducting risk assessments, and providing on-the-ground support for global travel.

  • Monitor global developments, identify emerging threats, and deliver timely intelligence and guidance to travelers, leaders, and cross-functional partners.

  • Serve as a key liaison between Corporate Security, Workplace, HR, Legal, and other Security teams during incidents, regional disruptions, and critical operations.

  • Develop and implement security plans for OpenAI-sponsored or executive-attended events, managing access control, credentialing, emergency procedures, and vendor coordination.

  • Support crisis-management initiatives, including tabletop exercises, after-action reviews, and readiness documentation, while contributing to training on travel, event, and crisis response.

  • Manage records and workflows across JIRA, mass messaging systems, and related tools to ensure accountability, compliance, and operational consistency.

  • Partner with external vendors, consulates, and security providers to maintain global standards of care and operational excellence, traveling up to 50% to support events and key Corporate Security missions.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring 10+ years of experience in corporate security, crisis management, or travel operations, with proven success leading travel- and event-security programs in complex environments.

  • Communicate clearly and translate technical or geopolitical information into actionable guidance for diverse audiences and itineraries.

  • Build trusted partnerships across departments and with external vendors, venue security, law enforcement, and executive-protection teams.

  • Operate with integrity, discretion, and sound judgment under pressure, leveraging tools such as JIRA, mass messaging systems, Google Suite, and Slack for coordination and reporting.

  • Willing to support travel, event, and crisis operations outside standard hours and travel up to 50% to advance global Corporate Security objectives.
