On a given day at Lunar, you'll likely…

  • Manage multi-modal freight movements (ocean, air, ground) across Lunar's partner, manufacturing, and customer network—serving as the subject matter expert for Class 9 Hazmat transportation and compliance
  • Define and maintain import/export process flows, determine HTS and ECCN classifications, and ensure 100% compliance with state, federal, and international regulations

  • Develop and track KPIs to assess carrier performance, optimize inventory investment, and drive toward the best total cost of ownership
  • Lead sourcing and vetting of carriers, brokers, and 3PLs; negotiate contracts, enforce INCOTERMS, and define Lunar's long-term fulfillment and distribution roadmap
  • Manage vendor relationships through regular QBRs, root-cause analysis, and on-site audits to ensure partners meet Lunar's operational standards
  • Onboard and train internal shipping personnel and external partners on Lunar's policies, and maintain rigorous process documentation and recordkeeping

Desired Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in transportation and trade compliance, ideally within a complex manufacturing or clean energy environment
  • Customs Broker License (LCB) strongly preferred
  • Deep expertise in HTS/ECCN classifications, the Commerce Control List, and Hazmat regulations (Class 9)
  • Proficiency with ERP, WMS, or TMS platforms and Google Suite
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional projects that bridge supply chain, finance, and engineering
  • Clear, confident communicator who can translate complex compliance requirements for stakeholders at any level

Benefits:

We’re dedicated to creating a remarkable employee experience. At Lunar, competitive base pay is one part of our total compensation package. Lunar employees also have the opportunity to become Lunar shareholders by getting equity in a fast-growing company and participating in our employee stock program.

Additional benefits include:
