We are looking for a Group Director, Strategy to join our team. Pharma content is everywhere you look these days. That’s where you come in. You know where and when ideas need to come to life to create a meaningful experience, whether for patients, health care professionals, or anyone else involved in healthcare. You’ve spent 10+ years in pharma strategy, and you lead with curiosity and optimism: you’re energized by what’s new, you see possibility in a tough brief, and you bring that outlook to your team and your clients.

You’re a “key-shaped” strategist with deep engagement expertise, a solid grounding in brand strategy, and the ability to connect those disciplines, supported by fluency in social and comms thinking. When a client asks for a new tactic or initiative, you’re thinking right away about how it fits into the greater brand and engagement plan. You earn trust by listening carefully, making a clear case for your recommendations, and challenging assumptions while maintaining productive relationships. You’re a great communicator in long form, in slides, and in the room. You want to work on a team that believes fun and work do not need to be mutually exclusive.

This is a people leader role. You will lead a team of strategists, guide client engagements, and collaborate with the agency creative team. You will report to the Head of Strategy.

This role is open to fully remote candidates in the United States, with a preference for EST / CST availability. Travel to East Coast client will be required up to 15%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of strategists, setting expectations, giving regular feedback, and growing talent

  • Partner with client service leads on assigned clients, developing deep knowledge of the business and its strategic communication needs

  • Lead client annual brand planning, including workshops, plan development, collaboration with external partners, and tactical ideation

  • Set the engagement strategy for client work, ensuring tactics ladder up to strategic imperatives without creating unnecessary clutter

  • Guide development of creative briefs and tactical/project briefs, ensuring each has a clear goal and strategy

  • Work closely with creative teams and client media agencies to shape how ideas express across channels

  • Play a leading strategic role in new business, including pitch development and presentation.

  • Shape client market research, from framing the questions and guiding screeners and discussion guides to interpreting the evidence and recommending what should change in the brand or engagement strategy as a result.

  • Maintain a pulse on the competitive marketplace, partnering with medical strategy, creative, and social teams, and keeping up with new channels and engagement opportunities

  • Drive curiosity in the agency, sharing inspirational content and helping to broaden team thinking

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a healthcare marketing agency, with progressive experience guiding US client strategies

  • Proven experience managing and developing people

  • Experience across both HCP and patient (DTC) audiences

  • US pharma experience required

  • Pitch experience required

  • Deep engagement strategy expertise, a solid grounding in brand strategy, and demonstrated ability to connect the two in actionable client recommendations

  • Proven ability to build trusted client relationships, listen carefully, and challenge assumptions constructively while keeping work moving forward

  • Social and comms strategy experience a big plus

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends

  • Ability to make the complicated simple and impactful

  • Desire to be on-site with clients

Candidates who advance to later stages of the interview process will be asked to prepare a polished presentation deck responding to a strategic challenge, demonstrating their approach to problem-solving and ability to clearly communicate their thinking and recommendations.

Not an agency*

The layer-laden teams. The prehistoric processes. The impersonal, ego-driven dog-and-pony shows. Take what you think you know about agencies and burn it. P10 was born of the idea that if something isn’t working—or could work better—change it. And that’s exactly what we did. We know that what we’re not makes us who we are. And we’re not just another agency. We are people driven by a palpable passion and purpose, felt by our clients from the very first conversation.

P10 brings together a team of diverse, remote-only seasoned professionals to deliver exceptional value for our clients. Dare to do something different - join us.
