About The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirements

The Growth & Content Strategy Manager will help drive audience and revenue growth across People Inc.’s portfolio of commerce brands through search and audience strategy, performance analysis, experimentation, automation, and scaled insights.

Reporting to the Director of Growth & Content Strategy for Commerce News & Deals, this role works alongside peer strategy managers and partners closely with editorial teams to identify opportunities, understand performance, and turn audience and commerce signals into actionable content strategies.

Commerce News & Deals operates in a rapidly changing audience ecosystem across Google Search, Google Discover, Apple News, social platforms, and other discovery channels. Success in this role requires SEO fundamentals, sharp analytical thinking, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to develop scalable systems and content strategies that help teams make faster, more informed decisions.

Hybrid 3x a week- (New York City) 

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Positions Contributions

Growth Strategy & Audience Insights

  • Partner with Commerce News & Deals editorial teams, newsletter and platform experts to identify opportunities that grow audience, engagement, and commerce revenue across each respective environment.

  • Review performance across organic search, Google Discover, Apple News, social platforms, and other key audience channels and provide actionable analysis.

  • Study search demand surrounding consumer trends, and identify opportunities around product launches, sales events, tentpoles, seasonal moments, trending products, brands, and celebrities.

  • Own and create recurring analyses, dashboards, and reporting that help teams understand performance and make better decisions.

  • Build and improve automated workflows using tools such as n8n, Google Apps Script, APIs, webhooks, Airtable, Google Sheets, and internal platforms.

  • Automate recurring data collection, reporting, monitoring, and distribution processes. Maintain, document, and monitor reporting for quality assurance. 

  • Connect data across systems to improve visibility into audience, content, and affiliate performance.

Experimentation & Performance Learning

  • Develop and execute tests to better understand audience behavior, content formats, titles, page features, and other performance drivers.

  • Conduct retrospectives around tentpoles, algorithm changes, audience shifts, and major initiatives.

  • Evaluate the impact of Growth recommendations and use those learnings to improve future strategies and systems.

  • Communicate technical and analytical findings clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of SEO and data expertise.

The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in SEO, audience development, growth strategy, digital publishing, commerce, or a related field.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to independently move projects from idea through execution and measurement.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling stories and actionable recommendations for a range of stakeholders. 

  • Experience building polished presentations in Google Slides is strongly preferred.

  • Good understanding of SEO fundamentals, search intent, trending events, and generally how content is discovered across algorithmically driven platforms SERP behavior, content strategy, and audience acquisition.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience working in Excel and/or Google Sheets with large datasets from multiple sources.

  • Experience with SEO and audience tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Looker, Ahrefs, STAT, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, or similar platforms.

  • Basic familiarity with workflow automation tools such as n8n, ChatGPT, Google Apps Scripts. Entry level knowledge of APIs, JSON, SQL, Python, JavaScript, and web crawling.

  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for experimenting with new tools, analytical approaches, and ways of working.

  • Experience with commerce publishing, affiliate marketing, Amazon Associates, Amazon Onsite Associates, Skimlinks, or retailer platforms is a plus.

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees.
