The Opportunity

We started as Grammarly, and we’ve rapidly added new teams and products to our portfolio to become Superhuman — from Coda, Superhuman (Mail), Rows, and most recently GPTZero and Fathom. The more products we bring together in our suite, the more possibilities we create for customers to discover the solution that can move them forward. That’s why every first impression matters. Each product, and the story we tell as a suite, is a powerful opportunity to spark confidence, inspire discovery, and help customers see what’s possible.

As a Design Manager on the Growth Design team, you’ll lead web and top-of-funnel growth design at Superhuman. It’s a high-impact, high-visibility role at the intersection of brand, product, and growth. You’ll own the design quality and strategic performance of our top-of-funnel web experiences: the surfaces that shape how tens of millions of people first encounter Superhuman and decide whether to give us a chance.

This is a role for a hands-on, player-coach personality who’s passionate about web technology, emerging web trends, prototyping, setting vision, raising craft, and shipping best-in-class web experiences. You’ll lead and work alongside a team of talented designers across web growth, conversion optimization, experimentation, testing, and interactive productized web experiences. You’ll partner closely with Growth Product, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Data Science to build a web presence that is genuinely compelling and continuously improving.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead web growth design end-to-end. Own the design vision, experimentation approaches, and execution for Superhuman’s top-of-funnel web experiences — from homepage and landing pages to acquisition flows, sign-up, and conversion surfaces. Set a high bar for craft, clarity, and persuasion.

  • Drive optimization and experimentation. Build and expand strong foundations for a rigorous design-led experimentation practice. Partner with data, product, marketing, and growth engineering to design, ship, and analyze A/B tests and multivariate experiments that improve conversion and activation into product experiences.

  • Build interactive and productized web tools. Lead the design of interactive web experiences — logged out product experiences, personalization opportunities, and other high-engagement web tools — that create real value for visitors from the moment they visit us and accelerate their path to becoming Superhuman customers.

  • Develop and manage a team of designers. Hire, mentor, and grow a team of growth web and content designers. Create a culture of high craft, iteration, bold design point-of-view and strong cross-functional partnership. Help each designer level up in both their design skills and their ability to think strategically. Collectively represent and advocate for how we raise and hold a high design bar with cross functional partners.

  • Shape top-of-funnel growth strategy through design. Be a thought partner to Growth leadership on where design can unlock the most value — identifying opportunities, prioritizing bets, and bringing a design perspective to roadmap and strategy conversations.

  • Productize the web design system. Contribute to and expand scalable design patterns, templates, and component systems that allow the team to move fast without sacrificing quality. Turn one-off wins into repeatable playbooks. Advocate for when to break the system and thoughtfully customize, and why.

  • Collaborate across functions. Work hand in hand with Brand, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to ensure web experiences are cohesive, on-brand, and high-performing — from the first impression, to sign-up and activation.

What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience leading web design teams. You’ve managed designers working on top-of-funnel, conversion, or acquisition surfaces — and you’ve done it at a company where design quality and business outcomes were both held to a high standard.

  • Deep fluency in balancing experimentation with brand moments. You understand when to design for conversion, how to structure experiments, and how to interpret results. You know how to balance speed with rigor, and when to make the case for bolder design bets. It’s not about aesthetics versus performance for you… You understand that both have their place and contribute to user success.

  • Strong craft and taste across visual, interaction, and web design. You create and motivate your team to produce work that is visually excellent, interactive, and technically grounded. You know what great web design looks like and you can articulate why. You’re able to work with engineers to ensure design details aren't descoped… there’s a reason for ensuring they move forward, and they’re aligned.

  • Experience with interactive and productized web experiences. You’ve designed tools, calculators, personalization flows, anonymous editors, or other signed-out interactive web products that go beyond static landing pages — and you understand what makes them engaging and effective.

  • A systems thinker and builder. You think in patterns and playbooks, not just individual pages. You’re energized by turning one-off successes into scalable, repeatable design systems.

  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration. You’re a strong partner to Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Data. You can navigate competing priorities, align stakeholders, and drive decisions without losing momentum.

  • Clear, compelling communication. You tell a clear story about design decisions — to your team, to leadership, and across functions. You can make a case for design quality in terms that resonate with business and growth stakeholders.
