Check out our Intro to Hex video and employee handbook to learn more about what it’s like to work at Hex.

The Role

AI is changing what's possible in growth marketing faster than most teams can keep up — and the gap between teams that embrace it and those that don't is widening fast. We're looking for a performance marketer who's building for the future, not sticking to playbooks from the past.

You'll be Hex's first dedicated performance hire. You'll take full ownership of paid-attributed S1s and pipeline ARR, with real budget from day one and room to build, test, and move fast.

This is an execution role with a systems-builder mandate. We want someone who runs structured experiments as a matter of habit, stays genuinely curious about what AI is doing to their craft, and is as energized by building the machine as by running it.

What you'll do

Own paid media end-to-end

  • Drive paid strategy and execution across Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads, and emerging channels — keyword and audience strategy, bid management, creative iteration, and budget pacing

  • Manage and optimize 7-8 figure annual paid budgets with rigor around CAC, pipeline influence, and LTV by segment

  • Take clear ownership of paid-attributed S1s and pipeline ARR contribution, in close partnership with Demand Gen

Build the machine

  • Build automated performance marketing systems — audience pipelines, creative testing frameworks, reporting infrastructure, and bid management — integrated into Hex's internal tools, repos, and agent harnesses

  • Use Hex's own agentic features to build and document paid marketing use cases that drive meaningful ROI — and generate solutions stories the team can use with prospects

  • Run structured experiments across landing pages, audiences, creative formats, and bidding strategies; document learnings in a way the team can compound on

Connect paid to the full funnel

  • Drive top-of-funnel paid acquisition to fuel the PLG motion — partner with Growth Product, Lifecycle, and Web to connect paid signups to self-serve activation and checkouts

  • Partner with Brand Design on creative strategy and feedback loops; bring data to every creative conversation

  • Stay ahead of emerging channels and AI-native campaign tools — and bring concrete experiments before you're asked

What we're looking for

Experience

  • 5–8 years in performance marketing, with direct ownership (not just oversight) of 6– and 7-figure paid budgets

  • Hands-on experience running Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Meta Ads — fluent in the nuances of each platform, not just their interfaces

  • Background at a B2B SaaS, developer tools, or data infrastructure company preferred

Skills

  • Experience building marketing automation and systems using tools like Clay, Zapier, HubSpot, and APIs

  • Familiarity with both PLG and SLG funnels and how paid strategy differs across each

  • Demonstrated use of AI tools — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar — to meaningfully automate or accelerate your work. We want specific examples.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce for CRM and pipeline attribution context (nice to have)

You might be a great fit if you…

  • Don't wait for a brief to test a hypothesis, or permission to flag a problem

  • Are as energized by building the infrastructure as by running the campaigns

  • Want to actually use the product you're marketing — and find real ways to put it to work

What success looks like

Within 12 months:

  • Paid channels have clear ownership of sourced S1s, pipeline ARR, and self-serve revenue contribution, with consistent reporting against targets

  • An automated performance marketing system is in production — audience pipelines, creative testing, and reporting infrastructure built into Hex's own tooling

  • Hex has documented, repeatable paid marketing use cases built on our own agentic platform — stories the GTM team actively uses with prospects

The on-target-earnings (base + variable) for this role is: $163,000 - $205,000.

In addition to our unique culture, Hex proudly offers a competitive total rewards package, including but not limited to, market-benched salary & equity, comprehensive health benefits, and flexible paid time off.

The salary range shown may be a reflection of additional factors such as geographical location and skill ranges/levels we’re open to. Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process, taking into account factors like leaving room for growth, internal fairness & parity, your demonstrated skills, and the depth of your experience. Our Recruiting team will be able to provide more details during the interview process.

By submitting an application the candidate consents to the use of their personal information in accordance with the Hex Privacy policy: https://learn.hex.tech/docs/trust/privacy-policy.
