Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

On the Waymo Marketing team, you will help to connect people with the magic and impact of Waymo's autonomous driving technology. Our team has the unique opportunity to not only grow Waymo's brand from the ground up, but to also build societal acceptance for autonomous driving technology for the first time in history. We build thoughtful marketing strategy, positioning, messaging and creative assets to deliver messages that matter to our audience, communicated through anything from video content, to social media interactions, to immersive physical experiences. We also shape Waymo's go-to-market initiatives, helping to transform Waymo into a thriving business with a growing user base.

In this hybrid role, you will report to our Director of Product & Growth Marketing.

You will:

  • Lead growth marketing strategy: Set the vision and strategic direction for a high-performing team focused on accelerating product adoption, use case growth, and market expansion through data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Drive U.S. market launches and expansions: Lead marketing strategy and go-to-market execution for new U.S. markets and service area expansions, partnering closely with Product, Operations, and other Marketing teams to accelerate customer adoption.
  • Develop and scale product use cases: Partner with Product and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for existing and emerging use cases, developing customer segmentation, growth strategies, and marketing plans that drive incremental trips and sustained usage.
  • Inform market growth strategies: Build a team with a deep understanding of market performance, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics to diagnose growth challenges, identify opportunities, and prioritize marketing initiatives that improve business outcomes.
  • Lead loyalty marketing strategy: Shape and evolve Waymo's loyalty marketing programs, developing strategies to increase customer engagement, frequency, and long-term retention.
  • Translate insights into business impact: Establish measurement frameworks and performance goals for growth marketing initiatives, leveraging data and experimentation to evaluate effectiveness, prioritize investments, and drive measurable business results.

You have:

  • 15+ years of experience in growth marketing, business strategy, product marketing, or related functions within consumer technology, including experience leading high-performing teams, setting strategic direction, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Exceptional analytical and commercial judgment, with the ability to diagnose business performance, understand growth drivers and constraints, evaluate investment tradeoffs, and translate complex data into strategies that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Demonstrated success developing marketing strategies that drive product adoption and sustained growth, leveraging customer segmentation, behavioral insights, and a deep understanding of the levers that influence customer engagement.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally across Product, Operations, Finance, Analytics, and Marketing to align business priorities and execute complex initiatives.
  • Strong strategic leadership and communication skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, balance long-term strategy with near-term execution, and influence senior executives through clear, data-driven recommendations.

We prefer:

  • Experience at a ride-hailing, marketplace, or app-based B2C company.
  • Concrete marketing experience driving the adoption of emerging technologies or new consumer behaviors, particularly where building understanding and trust is critical.
  • Track record across both established and early-stage products or markets.
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with near-term execution as business and product needs evolve.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel to active Waymo cities for research and immersion, partner meetings, and/or planning with local teams
