About This Role

Think Academy U.S. Online is seeking a Head of Teaching Management for our ELA Teaching Team. This role blends high-quality ELA instruction with teacher recruitment, training, and instructional leadership to build and support a strong teaching team, ensure consistent instructional excellence, and drive positive learning outcomes for students and families.

1. ELA Teacher Recruitment & Team Building
  • Lead the recruitment, screening, and selection of ELA teachers, with a strong preference for candidates with school-based teaching experience
  • Define clear hiring standards for ELA teachers, including instructional quality, classroom presence, and communication skills
  • Build and scale a stable, high-quality ELA teaching team in collaboration with academic and operations teams
2. Teacher Training & Professional Development
  • Design and deliver onboarding and ongoing professional development (PD) for ELA teachers
  • Train teachers on instructional expectations, lesson structure, learning goals, and feedback standards
  • Lead workshops, training sessions, and lesson debriefs to align teachers around what strong ELA instruction looks like
3. Instructional Quality & Classroom Support
  • Observe classes, review lesson recordings, and provide actionable feedback to teachers
  • Support teachers in improving classroom engagement, clarity of instruction, and student learning outcomes
  • Develop systems and best practices to ensure consistent instructional quality across teachers
4. Model Teaching & Instructional Leadership
  • Teach classes or deliver demonstration lessons as needed, serving as an instructional role model
  • Clearly articulate the instructional reasoning and cultural context behind ELA teaching practices
  • Represent the program internally and externally with strong instructional presence and credibility
5. Cross-Cultural Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with U.S.- and China-based teams to ensure smooth execution of instructional plans
  • Act as a cultural bridge, helping align U.S. classroom expectations with the needs of East Asian students and families
  • Support clear communication between teachers, curriculum teams, and operations partners

Working Schedule: 

  • Tuesday-Friday Onsite
  • Saturday WFH
  • 10am-7pm

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • Native-level proficiency in English required
  • Demonstrated experience teaching ELA in a school setting (public, private, or international school)
  • Strong understanding of U.S. ELA instruction, classroom culture, and academic expectations
  • Experience mentoring, training, or leading teachers (formal or informal leadership roles)
  • Ability to teach, model instruction, and explain instructional decisions clearly
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently teaching or previously taught as a full-time ELA teacher
  • Experience working with or living in East Asia (including but not limited to China, Korea, or Japan)
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills and global perspective
  • Experience with online instruction or teacher training in virtual settings
  • Background in curriculum design, instructional coaching, or program development

Compensation & Benefits Structure:

  • Total Compensation Package: $95,000-$110,000
  • Extensive hands-on experience and the opportunity to own and lead impactful projects from an early stage
