Lead engineering for SnapMagic Copilot and a high-traffic electronics platform. Initially build and ship production software hands-on, owning LLM workflows, training, evaluation, recommendation systems, relevance, and ads infrastructure. Partner with the CEO on product direction, make pragmatic technical tradeoffs, establish rapid execution and feedback loops, and communicate results. Later hire and lead an engineering team that scales velocity and reliability.

SnapMagic is building the digital growth engine for the global electronics industry.

Our core platform (formerly SnapEDA) already reaches 2M+ engineers annually and is the default discovery layer for electronic components. We’re now scaling SnapMagic Copilot, built on a proprietary dataset of 10M+ components, serving as the discovery and demand layer for the global electronics industry.

This is a category-defining opportunity.

We are looking for someone who is deeply obsessed with the craft of building products — someone who cares about building scalable systems, shipping with momentum, and improves through rapid feedback from real users.

Since our seed round, we’ve doubled revenue with a small team operating at a very high bar. The demand is real. The market is ready. What’s missing is a product and engineering leader who can turn momentum into a repeatable shipping machine.

We’re looking for someone who has personally built and shipped complex systems at a fast-growing, VC-backed company and knows what it takes to scale from early adoption to sustained, reliable usage.

This is a builder role, not a delegator role:

  • You will personally build and ship production-quality software until the motion is proven

  • You will set the bar for speed and quality through example, system design, and execution

  • You will operate in tight feedback loops with users — shipping, learning, and iterating continuously

  • You will own outcomes, roadmaps, and metrics end to end

The role has two phases:

Phase 1: Build personally, define the product and execution motion
Phase 2: Hire and lead a team that compounds velocity

You will:

  • Ship code regularly and stay hands-on in core systems

  • Own SnapMagic Copilot, including LLM workflows, training loops, evaluation, and iteration speed

  • Own recommendation and relevance systems and continuously improve them through usage data

  • Scale a high-traffic platform and ads system under real production load

  • Run tight weekly execution loops focused on shipped outcomes, not activity

  • Partner closely with the CEO on product direction and priorities

  • Make pragmatic and deliberate technical tradeoffs in cases where speed and learning matter more than elegance

  • Communicate clearly what shipped, what was learned, and what’s next

Who we’re looking for

  • You’re comfortable being in the details

  • You actively test ideas in production and adjust based on real user behavior

  • You care deeply about whether people actually use what you build

  • You do the unglamorous work like clockwork: debugging, triage, instrumentation, iteration, metrics

  • You take feedback eagerly — from users, data, and teammates — and turn it directly into execution

  • You hold yourself to standards higher than anyone else will

  • You move fast where it matters, close loops, and identify and address drag quickly

  • You make sound tradeoffs, prioritize well under ambiguity, and build systems that scale

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity

  • Medical, dental, vision

  • 401(k) – non-matching

  • Commuter benefits

  • Catered lunches on in-office days

  • A passionate, low-ego, fast-moving team

How we work

  • In office Monday, Wednesday, Friday

  • Remote Tuesday and Thursday

If you want to build a category, own software used by millions, and operate at a genuinely high bar, we’d love to talk.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
