About The Role

As our Head of Engineering, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the engineering strategy, driving innovation, and building teams that will transform the healthcare industry. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and operations, to deliver outstanding software that address the needs of our customers and improve patient outcomes.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the engineering landscape at Mochi Health, develop a high-performing team, and contribute directly to transforming healthcare.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and scale the engineering team, hiring and developing top technical talent while driving excellent performance and aggressive timelines.
  • Operate in an environment where outcomes are measured and the data is a crucial part of the narrative.
  • Define and execute engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Drive technical vision, product architecture, and infrastructure scalability.
  • Oversee engineering operations, delivery timelines, and process improvements.
  • Foster a culture of high performance and innovation
  • Partner with product, design, and go-to-market teams to drive business impact.
  • Implement best practices in software development, security, and DevOps
  • Manage budgets, resource planning, and technical roadmaps
  • Ensure engineering processes enable fast iteration while maintaining quality and reliability.
  • Plan, execute, and deliver complex engineering projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Partner with product management and stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and goals
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity and product quality.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on engineering progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior leadership.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 4+ years in senior leadership roles.
  • History of attracting, scaling, and developing teams from startup to growth stage.
  • Proven track record deploying and scaling mobile applications.
  • Deep expertise in technical architecture, software development methodologies, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience bringing products from concept through the product life-cycle.
  • A proven track record of leading large-scale web engineering projects and making strategic technical decisions.
  • Proven experience as an engineering manager or in a similar leadership role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in software engineering, with proficiency in Typescript, Javascript, React, AWS, Kubernetes, python, and other relevant tools, technologies, and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success in leading agile teams and managing complex engineering projects.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide engineers at various experience levels.

The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $300,000 to $450,000, in addition to equity and benefits. The salary range listed in each job posting represents the minimum and maximum targets for new hire salaries across all locations. Actual compensation within this range is determined by various factors, such as job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and location.
