About Avoma

Avoma is an AI-native B2B SaaS company helping revenue teams win more deals, ramp faster, and save hours every week through AI-powered meeting intelligence and coaching. We’re post–Series A, and scaling fast with a global team.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on Head of Finance & People Operations (Director-level) to own our financial foundation and people operations as we scale efficiently toward our next phase of growth.

This is a foundational leadership role reporting directly to the CEO.

You'll be the person ensuring we make every dollar count while building a world-class culture. You'll balance the rigor of financial planning with the empathy of people operations – two sides of the same coin when building efficiently.

What You'll Own

Finance (60%)

  • Manage all financial operations: accounting, bookkeeping, payroll (India + US), accounts payable/receivable

  • Own financial planning, budgeting, and monthly/quarterly board reporting

  • Build and monitor unit economics, CAC payback, burn rate, and runway projections

  • Lead fundraising preparation (financial models, data room, investor metrics)

  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and spend management

  • Manage banking relationships, cash management, and foreign exchange

  • Ensure compliance across India and US operations (tax, regulatory, audit)

  • Partner with Revenue Operations on pricing, packaging, and revenue recognition

People Operations (40%)

  • Design and implement scalable people systems for a cross-border team

  • Own full employee lifecycle: recruiting coordination, onboarding, offboarding

  • Manage equity administration, HRIS, and benefits programs (India + US)

  • Build compensation frameworks and conduct benchmarking

  • Develop performance management processes and promotion frameworks

  • Ensure compliance with employment law across geographies

  • Foster culture and engagement in a distributed environment

  • Partner with leadership on organizational design and headcount planning

What Success Looks Like

First 90 days:

  • Clean financials with clear visibility into burn, runway, and key metrics

  • Financial model that leadership trusts for decision-making

  • Streamlined monthly close process (India + US consolidated)

  • Documented people processes (hiring, onboarding, compensation)

  • Strong grasp of unit economics and growth levers

First year:

  • Extended runway through efficient growth (improved CAC payback, net retention)

  • Scalable people infrastructure supporting 50% headcount growth

Who You Are

Required:

  • 7-12 years of experience with at least 4 years in SaaS startups

  • Proven experience managing finance across Series B growth stage

  • Track record building people operations in high-growth, global environments

  • Deep understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, NDR, CAC, LTV, Rule of 40)

  • Experience with cross-border operations (India/US strongly preferred)

  • Hands-on operator comfortable with both strategy and execution

  • MBA or CA/CPA preferred but not required

Ideal background:

  • Finance or people lead at a Series A/B/C SaaS company

  • Familiarity with AI/ML business models

  • Built global operational systems from scratch

You thrive when:

  • Wearing multiple hats and context-switching between finance and people

  • Translating financial data into strategic recommendations

  • Balancing employee advocacy with financial discipline

  • Working autonomously with minimal direction

Why Join Avoma

  • Foundational role: Shape our financial and people strategy from the ground up

  • Clear growth path: VP of Finance opportunity as we scale toward phase and beyond

  • Lean, high-impact team: Every decision you make matters

  • AI-native: Work at the intersection of conversation intelligence and AI

  • Ownership culture: Competitive equity package

Our Stack

Finance: QuickBooks, Carta, Zeni, DriveTrain, Rippling

Compensation

Competitive salary based on experience + meaningful equity.

  • Salary: $150K – $175K

  • Equity: 0.15% – 0.30%

To Apply

Send your resume and a brief note (not a cover letter) answering:

  1. What's one financial decision you made that extended runway by 6+ months?

  2. What's one people system you built that scaled past 50 employees?

We're reviewing applications on a rolling basis.

Avoma is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
