About the Role

At Avoma, we believe building an exceptional company requires strong financial discipline, smart capital allocation, and data-driven decision-making.

We're looking for a Head of Finance to own our financial operations, planning, forecasting, and strategic finance as we scale.

This is a hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the CEO. You'll work closely with founders and functional leaders to build financial visibility, improve operating efficiency, and guide decisions around growth, investments, and profitability.

We're not looking for someone who simply manages accountants or prepares financial reports. We want a strategic finance leader who is equally comfortable building financial models, analyzing SaaS metrics, managing financial operations, and translating numbers into actionable business decisions.

About Avoma

Avoma is an AI-powered meeting assistant and conversation and revenue intelligence platform built for customer-facing teams. We automatically capture, summarize, and analyze conversations to unlock insights that drive better decisions, faster execution, and stronger customer relationships.

We're a venture-backed, fast-growing startup with 1,200+ paying customers, building at the intersection of AI, productivity, and revenue intelligence.

What You'll Own (Outcomes & Impact)1. Financial Planning & Strategic Finance
  • Own financial planning, annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial models.

  • Partner with the CEO and functional leaders on growth investments, headcount planning, and capital allocation.

  • Analyze budget versus actual performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Provide clear financial insights and recommendations that help leadership make better decisions.

2. SaaS Metrics & Business Performance
  • Own reporting and analysis of ARR, NRR, churn, CAC, LTV, CAC payback, gross margin, and burn multiple.

  • Build visibility into revenue growth, retention, customer economics, and operating efficiency.

  • Partner with Revenue Operations on bookings, billing, revenue recognition, and forecasting.

  • Analyze Sales and Marketing efficiency, customer profitability, and investment ROI.

  • Develop dashboards and reporting that help leadership understand business performance and growth drivers.

3. Accounting & Financial Operations
  • Oversee accounting, bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, expense management, and financial controls.

  • Own monthly and quarterly financial close, reconciliations, and consolidated reporting.

  • Ensure accurate SaaS revenue recognition and financial statements.

  • Manage external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and finance partners.

  • Oversee US and India financial operations, including intercompany accounting, tax compliance, and statutory requirements.

4. Cash Management & Capital Efficiency
  • Own cash flow forecasting, burn rate, runway, and capital planning.

  • Manage banking relationships, treasury operations, and cross-border cash management.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize spending, improve margins, and extend runway.

  • Establish financial controls and spending accountability across departments.

  • Evaluate major business investments based on expected financial returns.

5. Board Reporting & Fundraising
  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and business metrics for board meetings and investor updates.

  • Maintain investor-ready financial models and financial documentation.

  • Support fundraising preparation, financial due diligence, and data room management.

  • Partner with the CEO on financing scenarios and long-term capital requirements.

6. Finance Systems, AI & Automation
  • Build scalable financial processes, reporting systems, and internal controls.

  • Leverage AI and automation to streamline reporting, reconciliations, forecasting, and financial analysis.

  • Improve financial data accuracy, accessibility, and operational efficiency.

  • You're detail-oriented. You value accuracy, consistency, and high-quality execution.

  • You act like an owner. You proactively identify risks, opportunities, and improvements.
