Why Mintlify?

We're on a mission to empower builders.

  • Massive reach: Our docs platform serves 100 million+ developers every year and powers documentation for 20,000+ companies, including Anthropic, Microsoft, PayPal, Spotify, Coinbase, X, and over 20% of the last YC batch.

  • Small team, huge impact: We recently passed 65 employees and raised a $45 million Series B led by A16Z and Salesforce Ventures. Each new hire has a huge impact on shaping the company's trajectory.

  • Culture of slope over y-intercept: We value learning velocity, grit, and unapologetically unique personalities.

We grew in value faster than headcount and we’re looking to align the two quickly.

The Role

You'll be Mintlify's first finance leader. You'll take full ownership of it: the operating model the whole company plans against, the forecast, board and investor reporting, budgets, pricing economics, and cash strategy, plus accountability for the accounting layer beneath it, which you'll run through our outsourced partner and eventually a team you hire.

This is a builder role. On day one you are the finance function. The business you're modeling is genuinely interesting: hybrid self-serve and sales-led revenue, usage-based and credit billing, multi-year enterprise contracts, and a subsidiary.

What You'll Do
  • Build and own the company operating model

  • Own board and investor reporting

  • Roll out functional budgets and run budget-vs-actual with every team lead

  • Partner with Sales and Operations on pricing, packaging, and deal economics

  • Own treasury, runway planning, and fundraise readiness

  • Monthly close, payroll, billing reconciliation, tax and compliance

  • Scope and hire the finance team

What We're Looking For
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, with leadership experience at a high-growth SaaS company ($10M–$100M ARR)

  • You've built and owned a driver-based operating model

  • You've produced board or investor materials that stood on their own

  • You understand usage-based billing and hybrid PLG + sales-led revenue mechanics deeply

  • You've stood up a finance function, or major parts of one, from scratch

  • You've been through at least one fundraise or major diligence process on the company side

  • You know what excellent controllership looks like and can hire and manage it

  • You're high-agency, fast, and low-ego

Nice to Have
  • Multi-entity/subsidiary accounting exposure

  • Experience selecting and implementing a modern finance stack

  • CPA or equivalent accounting depth

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $265,000-$305,000 + equity

  • 401(k) plan

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • Additional perks designed to support your health and wellbeing

Company Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation and equity

  • 20 days paid time off every year

  • 401k or RRSP

  • $420/month wellness stipend

  • 100% coverage for Health, dental, vision

  • Free Ubers to and from work

  • Free lunch and dinners

  • Annual team offsite (previously went to Alaska, Hawaii)
