About Brale

Brale is the infrastructure layer that helps clients launch, manage, and use stablecoins in everyday applications. We support payments, embedded finance, and financial institutions running compliant stablecoin programs. We’ve built the trusted foundation for how businesses move, store, and use stablecoins at scale, and now we’re scaling it.

The Opportunity

You'll lead the Finance disciplines including FP&A, accounting, treasury and regulatory reporting for a regulated stablecoin infrastructure company at exactly the stage where the decisions you make about process, tooling, and team shape how well finance scales with the business. Reporting directly to the COO, this is a builder's role: someone who's stood up and matured a finance function before, not just inherited one.

Your Mission
  • Build and lead Brale's finance team by developing, and working hands-on across FP&A, accounting, treasury and regulatory reporting as we scale.

  • Own forecasting, budgeting, and board-level reporting, turning financial data into the strategic narrative for the CEO, board, and leadership team.

  • Oversee accounting operations and controls, including completing the transition from outsourced bookkeeping to a fully in-house, audit-ready close process.

  • Own and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, increasing speed, accuracy, and control while delivering timely, audit-ready financial results.

  • Set treasury strategy and oversee cash management, liquidity, and rebalancing activities tied to Brale's reserve systems.

  • Own regulatory and compliance reporting for our reserve programs, including the quarterly call report and monthly filings, in close partnership with Compliance.

  • Build resilient coverage across treasury execution and regulatory reporting so critical functions don't depend on any single person, balancing the maximization of yield against operating liquidity (cash) needs.

What Success Looks Like (6 Months)
  • Demonstrate command of Brale’s end-to-end funds flows, including corporate cash and customer reserves across fiat and on-chain rails, and use that understanding to improve liquidity management, controls, and payment execution.

  • Forecasting, budgeting, and board reporting run on a predictable cadence, fully owned by you.

  • Establish a reliable monthly close cadence that consistently produces accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial results.

  • Maintain audit-ready financials, controls, and supporting documentation; if an external audit occurs during the first six months, lead it through completion without significant deficiencies.

  • The accounting function is fully in-house and audit-ready, with the outsourced-to-in-house transition complete.

Treasury execution and regulatory reporting have documented procedures, named backups, and tested cross-coverage, eliminating single-person dependencies.

What You Bring
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including direct, hands-on ownership of FP&A and accounting (with or without a separate controller), not just directing others through it.

  • Comfort owning treasury or cash/liquidity management across multiple banking relationships and trading systems/portals; exposure to on-chain or custodial rails (wallets, exchanges, custodians, USDC/USDT/etc) is a strong plus.

  • Comfort owning accounting controls and the close process yourself, even without a CPA.

  • Genuine depth in forecasting, budgeting, and translating numbers into a story executives and boards act on.

  • Proven experience building and developing high-performing finance teams, including setting clear accountability, coaching direct reports, and creating scalable operating rhythms.

  • Experience presenting directly to executives, boards, and investors.

  • Bonus: Hands-on experience managing complex payment flows across corporate and customer funds, including timing, sequencing, settlement, and multiple payment rails, while meeting liquidity and control requirements.

  • Bonus: familiarity with digital asset or stablecoin accounting (reserve reconciliation, fair-value treatment). Direct experience is a plus, strong interest and aptitude to learn is the baseline.

  • Bonus: CPA or MBA.

Ways of Working
  • Collaboration: Partners directly with the CEO and COO, works closely with Compliance on regulatory reporting, Risk on risk management and with Product & Engineering on automation.

  • Communication: We're an anti-deck culture. Updates happen in Notion, not slide decks. In-person offsites, frequent async check-ins, direct access to leadership.

  • Tools: DriveTrain and Dual Entry (in active rollout), AI tools (we're AI-forward and expect our finance leader to be too), Notion.

Why Brale
  • Lead finance at a regulated fintech company building the infrastructure for how stablecoins actually work, high-trust, high-stakes, and growing fast.

  • Work directly with operators who've done this before: our CEO previously founded and scaled Dwolla, and our COO led corporate finance and ops through Cash App, Etsy, and MoonPay.

  • A fast-moving, low-bureaucracy, low-ego remote team that gets together in person regularly and genuinely wants to build together.
