About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Finance to join us here at Mochi Health. In this critical role, you will be the first hire for our finance team – building core processes and driving key decisions. You will own financial planning, analysis, and forecasting.The ideal candidate will have strong business & financial acumen, the ability to interpret complex data, and excellent communication skills to present findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels. This is a hands-on role where you will be deep in the weeds with core workflows, while also collaborating with leadership to make decisions and plan growth.

You will be reporting to the CSO managing finance for a private co scaling quickly in the most exciting city on the planet. We are revolutionizing healthcare!

What You’ll Do
  • Own the finance function at Mochi Health, managing cashflows, optimize tax obligations, handling corporate filings, and preparing reports on a monthly or quarterly basis as needed
  • Build the core finance organization: Stand up core processes, including forecasting, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and internal controls
  • Own corporate tax payments (state and federal) in collaboration with an external accounting firm ensuring that estimated taxes are paid timely
  • Process invoices, confirming that recipients are configured properly and that payments are made to optimize cashflows
  • Ensure corporate filings are up to date in all the relevant jurisdictions
  • Lead all annual, quarterly, and long-range financial planning
  • Complete an audit of our financials in 26Q1
  • Develop budgets and measure spending against them to calculate an accurate ROIC
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and policies
  • Provide data-driven insights to support strategic initiatives and organizational goals
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • CPA and MBA
  • 2+ years in M&A investment banking AND 2+ years in corporate finance at a startup with $50m+ in revenue in a controller or higher role
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
  • Experience with Python, ERP systems; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and team-oriented mindset.

This is a full time, five days in office position. Remote or hybrid work will not be considered.

The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $250,000 - $300,000, in addition to equity and benefits. The salary range listed in each job posting represents the minimum and maximum targets for new hire salaries across all locations. Actual compensation within this range is determined by various factors, such as job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and location.

Workplace Policy

Mochi Health is an in-person company based in San Francisco, CA. Our team works together in person five days a week to foster collaboration, innovation, and strong connections. We believe that face-to-face interaction builds a culture of excellence and allows us to deliver the best outcomes for the patients and providers we serve.

For office-based roles, the standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Actual hours may vary depending on business needs and role responsibilities. All employees receive meal and rest breaks in accordance with applicable state and local laws.

For designated remote roles, this in-person policy does not apply.
