Role Overview

You’ll be the engine behind Vibecoderz’ 20K+ paid users and $100K+ MRR milestones. Where the CMO drives brand, community, and culture, you will focus on funnels, experiments, and monetization levers. You know how to run growth like an engineer: structured, data-driven, and always measurable.

Your obsession is activation, conversion, retention, and LTV. You’ll orchestrate paid acquisition, A/B tests, SEO/ASO, referral loops, and pricing experiments — all while keeping developers (our users) at the center.

This role demands someone who can blend creativity and rigor, who can craft narratives that convert and pipelines that scale.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Growth Strategy & Execution

    • Own Vibecoderz’ growth engine from awareness to retention.

    • Define and optimize funnels (sign-up → activation → subscription → renewal).

    • Drive experiments across pricing, paywalls, and onboarding flows.

  2. Acquisition & Performance Marketing

    • Run multi-channel campaigns (Google, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, GitHub Ads, Discord boosts).

    • Build and scale paid acquisition pipelines with strict ROI focus.

    • Continuously optimize CAC:LTV ratios.

  3. Monetization & Pricing

    • Own pricing strategy for Free, Pro ($19), and Teams tiers.

    • Run pricing tests to maximize conversion and retention.

    • Define and execute upsell/cross-sell strategies.

  4. Retention & Lifecycle Marketing

    • Build lifecycle campaigns (email, push, in-app nudges).

    • Reduce churn through proactive communication and win-back flows.

    • Partner with Head of Community on Discord-led retention campaigns.

  5. Data & Experimentation

    • Define and enforce event taxonomy across product.

    • Run A/B and multivariate tests with statistical rigor.

    • Set up dashboards for cohort analysis, growth metrics, and funnel drop-offs.

  6. Cross-Functional Leadership

    • Partner with CMO on storytelling and GTM.

    • Partner with CPO on growth-driven product features (referral programs, virality loops).

    • Mentor and scale a growth marketing team (performance, analytics, lifecycle).

Success Metrics

90 Days (Probation):

  • Build and present Vibecoderz’ 12-month growth model (acquisition → conversion → retention → revenue).

  • Launch at least 3 growth experiments (pricing, referral, or acquisition channel).

  • Achieve baseline paid conversion ≥3% from free → paid users.

12 Months:

  • Scale Vibecoderz to 20K+ paid users with ≥70% retention at 12 months.

  • Achieve CAC:LTV ≥ 1:4 with sustainable paid acquisition.

  • Drive $100K+ in recurring monthly revenue with scalable playbooks.

  • Build and lead a team of 4–5 growth specialists.

Must-Haves

  • 10+ years in growth/performance marketing roles in SaaS, developer tools, or consumer productivity apps.

  • Proven track record of scaling from 0 → $1M ARR (ideally with B2C SaaS).

  • Expertise in funnels, paid marketing, SEO/ASO, referral systems, pricing experiments.

  • Strong data chops: SQL, Amplitude/Mixpanel, GA4, cohort analysis.

  • Excellent storyteller who can translate growth experiments into board-level insights.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in EdTech, DevTools, or B2C SaaS ecosystems.

  • Prior exposure to developer acquisition funnels (GitHub, Product Hunt, Discord).

  • Hands-on experience with AI-driven Martech tools (HubSpot AI, Mutiny, Jasper, Segment).

  • Founding marketer or early-stage growth role.

Tech Stack Visibility

  • MarTech: HubSpot, Segment, Mutiny, Mixpanel/Amplitude, GA4

  • Experimentation: Google Optimize, LaunchDarkly, PostHog

  • Campaigns: Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, GitHub Ads, Twitter/X Ads

  • SEO/ASO: Ahrefs, SEMrush, SurferSEO

  • Community Growth: Discord Insights, Orbit, Bevy

  • Data: Firestore events, Neo4j Developer Graph, BigQuery

Assessment

Objective: Validate ability to design a growth engine for Vibecoderz’ AI Tutor.

Assessment (2-Part):

  1. Growth Model (Written)

    • Build a 6-month growth model with acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization assumptions.

    • Include:

      • Channel mix (organic, paid, community).

      • CAC targets and ROI.

      • Retention tactics.

      • Pricing experiments (Pro vs. Teams).

  2. Experiment Design (Case Study)

    • Design an A/B test for improving conversion on the “Text → Course → Certification” flow.

    • Must specify hypothesis, control/variant, metrics, and success criteria.

  3. Presentation (Optional)

    • 5-slide deck on “How I’d scale Vibecoderz to 20K paid users in 12 months.”

Deliverables:

  • Written growth model (Excel/Google Sheet or doc).

  • A/B test design doc.

  • (Optional) 5-slide deck.
