Job Description Summary

-To lead the execution of all Internal Audit (IA) programs in the assigned Region by planning and coordinating IA activities and by assuming responsibility for the regional audit coverage. To ensure that internal audits across the assigned Region fulfil Sandoz IA methodology standards, strategies and directives, and to ensure that these are consistently applied across the Region.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate an inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results‑driven leadership style aligned with Sandoz Values and Behaviours, acting as a role model across the organization.

  • Lead the Internal Control Compliance (ICC) / MCS process across the full Sandoz organization by defining annual priorities, approving plans, and monitoring execution progress.

  • Propose and execute the annual operating plan in line with budget requirements, organizational guidelines, and agreed targets.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior finance colleagues and external partners, to promote MCS guidelines, ensure alignment with Sandoz Values, and maintain timely and transparent communication.

  • Monitor and support MCS execution, guiding control owners and ensuring effective remediation plans are designed and implemented where needed.

  • Provide advisory and subject matter expertise on MCS and internal control topics across the organization, including support for projects such as M&A and other strategic initiatives.

  • Manage a diverse global team (on‑ and offshore) across GCCs and major countries, fostering collaboration, high performance, and standardized ways of working.

  • Build and strengthen team capabilities by identifying, developing, and deploying talent, ensuring a strong succession pipeline and continuous skills development.

  • Promote a customer‑focused service culture through effective workforce management, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Sponsor and oversee key initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing productivity, efficiency, and controls excellence.

  • Ensure structured onboarding, training, and ongoing support for new team members, equipping them with the necessary knowledge, tools, and resources to succeed.

Key indicators:

  • MCS testing plans delivered on time and high quality 

  • ICC level of compliance (>98%) 

  • No overdue remediation plans at year end 

  • Cost effective operating model with high level of customer satisfaction from all key customers (e.g. based on annual customer satisfaction survey) and in accordance with agreed SLAs (if any)  

  • Development of Finance talent, ensuring retention and succession planning in place (e.g. number of promotions from within Department / number of unplanned departures / talent exchange with other areas of Finance), employee satisfaction 

  • Delivery of productivity targets through timely/successful execution of improvement projects
