Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate customer, vendor, reseller and data‑processing agreements.

  • Advise People Ops on hiring, terminations, equity grants and multi‑state compliance.

  • Build and run privacy / AI compliance program (GDPR, CCPA, FTC).

  • Prepare board consents, maintain cap‑table and support financings.

  • Manage outside counsel on IP, litigation and insurance claims.

Scope

You will be the first in‑house attorney at Interface.ai, partnering directly with the CEO and leadership to shape legal strategy, streamline deal cycles, ensure regulatory readiness in the U.S. and India, and lay the foundation for future legal operations.Ideal Experience & 

 

Qualifications

  • JD or LL.B.; active bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

  • 8–15 years combined law‑firm and in‑house experience with a proven record as a ‘department of one’.

  • Deep expertise in SaaS commercial contracts, employment law, data privacy (GDPR/CCPA) and corporate governance.

  • Hands‑on experience managing outside counsel and cross‑border issues (U.S./India preferred).

  • Business‑first communicator who can translate legal complexity into clear, actionable guidance.

  • Comfort leveraging generative‑AI tools and prompt engineering to scale legal processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage prompt engineering and generative-AI tools (e.g., contract-clause extraction, automated redlining, rapid case-law research) to accelerate legal workflows and reduce turnaround time.
