Position Summary

The Head of Marketing Services leads 33 USA's entire service delivery organization — the PR, Social Media Marketing, Cross Media Marketing (Advertising), Event, Brand Production, Bilingual Business Facilitator, and Creative divisions. Taking over this function from the CEO, who currently holds it concurrently, you will own the organizational management, service quality, and delivery excellence of all service divisions, and carry accountability for achieving the semi-annual gross profit targets the company sets for each service team. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work closely with Business Development teams in both the US and Japan to optimize team assignments and maintain the highest level of client satisfaction across all projects — while continuously evolving our service quality to stay ahead of market trends and client expectations. You will also partner closely with the Creative Director, who reports to the CEO and owns 33's brand and creative standards across all divisions.

Requirements

Service Organization Leadership

- Lead and integrate all service delivery divisions (PR, Social Media Marketing, Cross Media Marketing (Advertising), Event, Brand Production, Bilingual Business Facilitator, and Creative), taking over the function currently held by the CEO.

- Set goals and KPIs for each division; build scalable team structures, workflows, and resourcing plans.

- Hire, develop, evaluate, and retain division leads; drive succession planning and team building.

- Foster cross-division collaboration to deliver integrated marketing services.

Collaboration with the Creative Director

- Understand and champion the mission of the Creative Director (a peer executive reporting to the CEO): elevating 33's branding and creative standards across all service divisions.

- Own 'to whom, how to deliver, and how to produce results' — team assignments, delivery, client satisfaction, and profitability — while respecting the creative vision and brand standards ('what and how to express') set by the Creative Director.

- Involve the Creative Director early in major pitches, campaigns, and quality reviews, and work together to raise 33's branding level.

- When creative standards conflict with delivery constraints (budget, schedule, client requirements), drive resolution directly with the Creative Director, escalating to the CEO only when necessary.

Service Quality & Client Satisfaction

- Own service quality standards and delivery excellence across all client projects.

- Work day-to-day with Business Development teams in both the US and Japan to determine optimal team assignments for each project and account.

- Monitor client satisfaction, handle escalations, and drive corrective actions to protect and grow client relationships.

- Establish quality assurance processes, project reviews, and feedback loops across divisions.

Service Evolution & Innovation

- Continuously upgrade service offerings to match market trends, new platforms and technologies (including AI), and evolving client expectations.

- Benchmark against leading North American agency standards and introduce best practices.

- Develop new capabilities and cross-division integrated offerings that increase client value.

Business Management & Executive Collaboration

- Achieve the semi-annual gross profit targets the company sets for each service team; own this accountability across the services organization.

- Manage division budgets, resource utilization, and the profitability of the services organization.

- Report directly to the CEO and participate in management-level decisions on strategy, investment, and hiring.

- Act as a bridge between 33's Tokyo headquarters and US teams to ensure smooth cross-border collaboration.
Skills and Experience Requirements:

- Proven experience managing an organization of 15+ staff at a North American marketing agency (required)

- 10+ years of experience in marketing/creative agency environments spanning multiple disciplines (PR, social media, advertising, events, production, and/or creative)

- Track record of raising service quality and client satisfaction at scale

- Experience partnering with sales/business development teams on staffing, resourcing, and account growth

- Experience working in partnership with senior creative leadership (e.g., Creative Directors/CCOs), respecting creative vision while owning delivery and business outcomes

- Strong leadership and people-management skills, including managing senior division leads

- Excellent communication and senior-level client-facing skills

- Experience with budget and P&L management
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Experience managing a larger organization (several dozen / 30+ staff) at a marketing agency

- Experience in the entertainment industry (Anime, Gaming, or Pop Culture) and deep understanding of the North American entertainment landscape

- Business-level Japanese, or experience working with Japanese clients and cross-border teams

- Experience managing gross profit / revenue targets across multiple service teams on semi-annual or quarterly budget cycles

- Experience integrating AI and emerging technologies into agency services and workflows

- Experience leading organizational transformation or scaling agency teams

- Familiarity with Japanese IP licensing workflows
