Join the team bringing advanced autonomy to the built world

At Bedrock, we're moving AI out of the lab and into the real world. Our team includes veterans who helped launch Waymo, scaled Segment to a $3.2B acquisition, and grew Uber Freight to $5B in revenue. Today, we're deploying autonomous systems on heavy construction equipment across the country, improving safety on job sites and accelerating schedules on critical infrastructure projects.
We're not here debating the future of AI. We're deploying it in the real world. In just two years, we've raised $350M and achieved the first fully autonomous excavator deployments in construction.
This is where algorithms meet steel-toed boots. You'll work alongside construction veterans and world-class engineers to solve physical-world problems that simulations can't touch. If you're ready to do meaningful work on hard problems, we'd love to have you join us.

About the role

Bedrock's technology is scaling rapidly —over the next twelve months, we will rapidly scale our machine count, partners, and sites while also adding net-new machine types and a next-generation platform.

The Head of Operations Planning & Special Projects owns aligning cross-functionally on an integrated machine plan across types, generations, product lines, partners, sites in order to develop Operational headcount and material plans; ultimately, giving the business a clear view of what's required and by when.

You'll own the integrated machine plan, scenario planning, cross-functional alignment when constraints arise, building headcount scaling factors and plans, and standing up our early Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you'll be a critical thought partner to the VP and each Operations Lead.

What you'll doIntegrated Planning
  • Own the integrated operations plan covering requirements across all product lines, machines, field headcount, and material readiness.

  • Identify constraints in the plan and build scenarios that drive resolution or acceptable alternatives.

  • Partner with each Operations leader to surface optimizations, risks, and constraints, and develop paths to mitigation.

  • Support senior leadership and board-level decisions with clear, rigorous analysis.

  • Partner with the VP of Operations to define team OKRs, the mechanisms to track them, and routine reporting on critical initiatives.

  • Contribute to the long-term forecast, integrating priorities across multiple teams.

  • Help align data collection needs with operational optimizations to strengthen our data pipelines.

S&OP Process Implementation
  • Partner with Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Operations to build stage-appropriate S&OP processes that tee up critical business decisions, surface constraints, and evaluate alternatives.

  • Own the monthly S&OP cycle end to end: forecast development, demand review inputs, forecast analysis, supply plan integration, pre-meeting coordination, and reporting.

  • Forecast demand, assess whether projected supply can meet it, and define key performance metrics such as forecast accuracy and fulfillment rate.

  • Serve as the bridge between business strategy, engineering build plans, finance, and supply chain execution.

Production Planning Coordination
  • Own phase-in / phase-out planning for new machine types, product lines, partners and sites, and hardware generations — including availability, supply constraints, retrofits, and partner transitions.

  • Track lead times and drive alignment on critical decision timelines and order dates.

  • Work with Operations leaders to plan labor availability, using key ratios and operational planning drivers.

  • Partner with Supply Chain and Contract Manufacturing to plan production capacity against demand, consolidate risks, and drive prioritization when supply is constrained.

Operations Insights & Analytics
  • Own the development of core operational metrics and routine reporting.

  • Run operational review cadences that drive accountability and bring key insights to the business.

  • Support continuous improvement across Operations through process and data.

What success looks like
  • A single, trusted integrated plan that the business uses to make decisions about machines, people, and materials.

  • Constraints surfaced early, with clear scenarios and recommendations — not surprises.

  • A functioning monthly S&OP cadence with consistent participation and clear decisions.

  • Core operational metrics defined, tracked, and reviewed on a regular rhythm.

What we're looking forRequired
  • 8–10 years in operations, planning, or program leadership, including 5+ years working with cross-functional teams distributed across sites or regions.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders — aligning cross-functional stakeholders, driving difficult decisions, and managing risk through rapid growth.

  • Track record implementing S&OP or supply-and-demand processes that bring clarity to requirements, decisions, and success criteria.

  • Experience planning and managing hourly / field workforce headcount.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; able to turn data into operational decisions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, including with executives.

Preferred
  • Familiarity with autonomy, heavy machinery, and/or the construction industry.

  • Experience standing up supply-and-demand review processes that clarify timelines, requirements, decisions, risks, and solutions.

  • Continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma experience, including standing up an improvement program.

Why this role matters

As Bedrock scales, the hardest problems are increasingly about coordination: getting the right machines, people, and parts to the right sites at the right time. This role builds the planning backbone that lets every Operations team — and the company — make faster, better decisions with confidence.
