Help us build a luxury-focused fintech in the Travel Rewards space!

Taekus is looking for a Head of Payment Operations to lead and scale our payments ecosystem across cards, deposits, money movement, and sponsor bank partnerships. You will own the strategy, infrastructure, and daily operations that power how funds flow through Taekus and manage a lean, high-impact function that spans card processing, disputes, risk, payment operations, program management, and partner bank relationships.

This is not a traditional bank ops role. You will blend hands-on execution with long-term strategy, working closely with our founders, compliance, product, CX, and engineering teams to build a reliable, scalable, and best-in-class payments organization.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own and deepen relationships with our sponsor banks across all programs.

  • Define the operational and technical strategy for how payments move across the Taekus ecosystem.

  • Oversee card processing, ACH, wires, ledgering, settlement, reconciliations, returns, exceptions, and any other operational needs that arise as we scale.

  • Build and optimize processes for disputes, chargebacks, fraud escalations, overdrafts, and exceptions.

  • Develop dashboards and reporting to monitor performance, risk exposure, and operational KPIs.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of debit and credit programs, ensuring compliance with network and regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as the internal escalation point for complex payment ops issues for the CX team.

What you Bring to the Table

  • 6–10+ years of experience in payments, fintech, banking operations, or card program management

  • Strong understanding of ACH, card networks, settlement, reconciliations, disputes, overdrafts, and money movement operations.

  • Prior experience working with sponsor banks (or managing them) is a strong advantage.

  • Ability to design systems and processes that scale as volume and products grow.

  • Comfortable in a hybrid strategic/execution role: you can build a roadmap and also dive into an ACH return or settlement mismatch.

  • Excellent communication skills and a high bar for accuracy, clarity, and responsiveness.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset and eagerness to build in an environment where the path isn’t always defined.

You’d Love This Role If You…

  • Want to own and define the payments function for a fast-growing fintech.

  • Enjoy combining deep operational knowledge with product thinking.

  • Want to build something premium: clean processes, white-glove support, and high-performing systems.

  • Thrive in a fast-moving startup where speed and judgment matter.

  • Love travel and value remote work flexibility.
