About the Role: 

Wing is looking for a Head of Sourcing & Procurement to join our Finance and Sourcing team. This role is based onsite in Palo Alto, California. The ideal candidate has deep expertise across supply chain development and will leverage their best practices and management experience to lead a high performing team. You will play a critical role in scaling our supply chain to support mass production and operationalize new product introductions (NPI). By partnering closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to source specialized aerospace components, you will ensure seamless hardware commercialization while driving profitability through optimized unit economics and total cost of ownership.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-functioning team responsible for Wing Sourcing and Procurement, fostering a culture of operational excellence.
  • Architect and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for both direct and indirect sourcing, navigating the complex backdrop of rapid hardware development and commercialization.
  • Own and cultivate strategic commercial relationships with manufacturing and service providers to ensure continuity of supply, aerospace-grade quality, and proactive risk management.
  • Drive continuous operational and cost efficiencies by spearheading process improvements, design changes, and the integration of AI-driven procurement processes to enhance predictive sourcing and contract velocity.
  • Leverage strategic internal relationships across Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Product to effectively collaborate and align procurement roadmaps with hardware and software engineering lifecycles.
  • Scale global manufacturing partners and execute creative, strategic commercial deals to achieve ambitious targets around total cost, supply, and quality.
  • Identify new technology solutions and services to enable the next generation roadmap for software & flight automation (including software, data, professional services).
  • Thrive in a rapidly changing technology environment, constantly making innovative decisions with available information to drive excellence under pressure.

What You’ll Need: 

  • 15+ years of supply chain development, sourcing, and materials management experience, featuring deep expertise in both direct and indirect procurement.
  • 5+ years of team management experience, demonstrating the flexibility to adapt and lead in multinational, dynamic, and rapidly changing environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) paired with a strong engineering background in product development.
  • Top-notch analytical and negotiation skills, with the proven ability to seamlessly toggle between high-level strategic thinking and detail-oriented execution.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills necessary to influence and collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams.
  • A tenacious approach to problem-solving and issue resolution, driven by accomplishing extraordinary objectives, along with the ability to travel to supplier locations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

$224,000$281,000 USD
