Job Title: Head of Talent

Salary: $150k–$200k

Company Description: BlueDot Impact - $25M funded nonprofit startup building the workforce to protect humanity from AI and biological risks.

Job Description:
As Head of Talent, you will scale BlueDot from 8 to 25+ people, hiring 20 exceptional individuals over the next year. This is a high-stakes strategy and sales role where you’ll outmaneuver tech giants to secure world-class researchers and operators who will shape the future of global safety and governance.

Location: San Francisco, USA

Why this role is remarkable:

  • Partner directly with the CEO to design BlueDot’s entire recruiting infrastructure, employer brand, and talent strategy from the ground up.

  • Join a mission-critical startup that recently raised $25M in 2025 to professionalize the AI safety and biosecurity workforce worldwide.

  • Exercise complete autonomy in a high-agency environment with a $150k–$200k salary, 10% employer 401(k) contribution, and unlimited PTO.

What you will do:

  • Source relentlessly through cold outreach, events, and deep-network mapping to build a warm pipeline of 50+ elite candidates in Ashby.

  • Own the end-to-end candidate experience, maintaining a ≥80% offer acceptance rate by persuasively pitching BlueDot’s mission over higher corporate compensation.

  • Accelerate hiring velocity by reducing time-to-hire to under four weeks while ensuring every new hire compounds the company culture.

The ideal candidate:

  • Proven track record of closing highly competitive candidates who had multiple offers from top-tier AI labs or well-funded Silicon Valley startups.

  • Exceptional "taste" for talent, with the ability to identify high-agency, mission-aligned individuals who thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments.

  • Creative sourcing expertise within the AI safety, governance, or EA ecosystems, or a demonstrated ability to master new talent landscapes rapidly.
