Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.
We're looking for a Head of Talent Management to oversee a portfolio of programs, products, and tools designed to help us attract, develop, and retain the talent Atlassian needs to thrive.
You'll operate as a player and coach of a high-performing team to build and scale effective talent management solutions that enable the business to achieve its goals. You'll "Play As a Team" with the broader Talent Team, partner teams (e.g., HRBP, Comp, Talent Acquisition), support teams (e.g., People Operations, People Insights, People Technology), and stakeholders to build a thriving talent ecosystem that meets the evolving needs of the business.
There's endless opportunity to have an impact at Atlassian and we're looking for a strategic builder to help us achieve as much as we can in the years ahead. This role will sit on the Talent team and report to the Head of Talent and Employee Relations.
What you'll do
  • Lead and grow a high-performing team of talent management professionals, providing coaching, direction, and opportunities to thrive
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve talent management programs across performance management, career development, internal mobility, top talent, succession planning, and more
  • Identify opportunities to build, improve, and scale impactful talent solutions across the business
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and leaders to collaboratively deliver solutions that meet the needs of the business
  • Foster a high-performance culture that celebrates impact and innovation, and strengthens our ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent
  • Build trusted partnerships across Atlassian to drive alignment, collaboration, and shared success
  • Empower the team to harness AI, integrating it into workflows and talent solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Use data and industry insights to guide decision-making and measure the impact of our work.
  • Cultivate a culture of experimentation and innovation, encouraging new ideas and continuous improvement

Who you are
  • Visionary leader and builder who inspires teams to create and scale new programs from the ground up.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for leveraging AI and technology to transform talent management.
  • Bar raiser who sets high standards and motivates others to achieve excellence.
  • Business/customer-focused leader who connects talent strategy to business outcomes and empowers teams to deliver impact.
  • Skilled at developing, coaching, and empowering high-performing teams to operate autonomously and drive results.
  • Influential communicator who builds strong relationships and alignment across all levels and functions.
  • Growth-oriented leader who fosters a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • 15+ years in talent management, HR, or related fields, with executive and people leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and scaling talent programs in fast-paced, distributed environments.
  • Experience leveraging AI or advanced analytics in HR/talent contexts.
  • Strong business acumen and executive presence.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a global, cross-functional environment.
