As the Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supporting Global Services & Support (GSS), you'll play a key role in advancing one of our most dynamic, customer-focused organizations. GSS is the premier services and support partner that empowers customers to accelerate scientific discovery and improve health outcomes. Spanning three divisions—GSD, BID, and CSD—within the Life Sciences, Diagnostics & Applied (LDA) sector, GSS is a $300M business that delivers innovative service solutions around the globe.

In this highly collaborative role, you'll partner with business leaders to align talent, leadership, organizational capability, and culture with strategic priorities. Working across a global, matrixed environment, you'll help build high-performing teams, strengthen leadership pipelines, and guide organizational transformation that fuels growth and innovation.

Using workforce insights, digital capabilities, and AI-enabled analytics, you'll empower leaders to make data-driven decisions, improve organizational effectiveness, and build a future-ready workforce—all while advancing Thermo Fisher Scientific's Mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

What You Will Do
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and execute people strategies that support business priorities and long-term growth.
  • Advise leaders on organizational design, talent management, workforce planning, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead talent reviews and succession planning to strengthen leadership capability and organizational readiness.
  • Drive organizational change and transformation initiatives that enhance business performance and the employee experience.
  • Leverage workforce analytics, digital tools, and AI-enabled insights to identify trends, guide decisions, and improve organizational performance.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated, enterprise-wide talent solutions.
  • Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture that reflects Thermo Fisher Scientific's values and leadership expectations.
Minimum QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
Experience
  • 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including strategic HR Business Partner experience in a global or matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with business leaders on organizational design, talent management, leadership development, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align people strategies with organizational priorities and measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience leveraging workforce analytics, digital tools, and AI-enabled technologies to support strategic decision-making and organizational effectiveness.
  • Exceptional communication, executive presence, and influencing skills with a proven ability to build trusted partnerships and translate complex business challenges into practical, business-focused solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting global organizations within life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, commercial, or R&D environments.
  • Experience leading organizational transformation, business integration, or large-scale change initiatives.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification.

Travel: Approximately 10–15%, including occasional international travel.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $174,600.00–$232,800.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
