Manage HR strategy and operations, employee relations, performance management, talent and workforce planning, compensation and benefits, HR systems, compliance, leaves, and employee experience. Lead the HR and talent acquisition team while advising executives and managers. The role requires deep California employment law knowledge, HR infrastructure scaling experience, and support for hourly and salaried employees in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and execute HR operations, policies and procedures, workforce planning, employee lifecycle programs, and organizational initiatives.
- Manage employee relations, investigations, performance management, coaching, mentoring, corrective action, terminations, and manager support. Working with managers and leaders on succession planning and employee retention strategies.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers on recruiting, workforce planning, organizational growth, onboarding, promotions, and employee development.
- Develop employee plans and initiatives including: compensation, benefits, equity program, job leveling structure, and related employee programs.
- Manage HR systems, data integrity, integrations, automation, reporting, and continuous improvement of HR processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies and partner with Legal or external counsel on employment matters when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with federal and California employment law (FLSA, FMLA/CFRA, ADA/FEHA, Cal/OSHA, wage-and-hour, meal and rest breaks, PAGA exposure)
- Support export-control and ITAR-related onboarding requirements in partnership with Legal and Security
- Maintain and update the employee handbook, policies, and required postings and trainings
- Manage leaves of absence and accommodation requests
- Lead and develop the HR/TA team while partnering closely with executive leadership and managers on people-related matters and organizational initiatives.

Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience (including 3+ years as an HR Manager or Sr. HRBP)
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting manufacturing, hardware, or other operations-heavy environments with hourly and salaried employees
- Experience in scaling organizations and building or improving HR infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of HR operations, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, recruiting, and employment compliance
- Proven leadership, communication, judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information
- SHRM-SCP or HRBP Certification, is a plus'
- Deep, current knowledge of California employment law and wage-and-hour rules
- Proficiency with HRIS and ATS (Rippling, Lever, etc.)
- Clear, direct communicator who can influence senior leaders and build trust on the shop floor
- Ability to commute/travel to Livermore, CA about 30% of the time

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this full-time position is between $150,000 and $180,000. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
