Payroll Manager
- Act as subject matter expert of the team and oversee and lead processing of US payroll and able to represent Payroll team in joint initiatives with cross functional departments
- Operate as a subject matter expert in maintaining market knowledge in payroll best practices (e.g., auditing) and payroll compliance, internal controls, etc
- Perform audits on data and system maintenance, including, but not limited to new hire set up, tax forms processing, local taxes, timekeeping input, direct deposit set up, benefits set up, terminations, and garnishments processing
- Provide knowledge and guidance, and oversee the day-to-day activities of payroll analysts, and operate as an escalation point to resolve issues
- Support clients in all areas of the organization in the US and provide basic guidance to external payroll team in Canada
- Develop and maintain pay policies, payroll calendars, payroll checklists, process maps and other procedural documentation. Maintain confidential information when required by legal or ethical standards and professionalism to ensure privacy of employee records
- 8+ years of payroll experience, including expertise in a multi-state payroll environment
- Extensive US payroll experience and expertise
- Experience leading and managing a team
- Knowledge of ADP WFN or similar time & attendance and payroll cloud-applications
- Interpersonal and client service skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, and to deal tactfully and courteously with business partners and clients when explaining the functions and policies of Payroll
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
