Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner acts as a member of, and trusted advisor and coach to, the client group’s senior leadership team. Identifies stated and underlying needs and develops talent strategies and solutions for their assigned locations or business unit. Collaborates closely with Human Resources functional groups to develop and implement talent solutions, advocating for the needs of the client group in enterprise wide HR program development and implementation.

What You'll Do

  • Acts as a trusted advisor and coach to the senior client group leadership team. Build deep client understanding and relationships. Strategic alignment with the organization as well as organizational trust in, and partnership with, the HR function.
  • Assesses the talent needs of the client group through internal evaluations and external environmental scans to identify current and anticipated talent related issues.
  • Use data and insights to inform business cases for changes to talent strategies or practices. Decisions and recommendations are made by data, leading to improved outcomes and buying in. Talent implications are evaluated as part of the senior leadership team’s decision-making process.
  • Represents and advocates for client group needs in enterprise wide HR program development and implementation.
  • Partners with senior client group leaders to design organizational structure, job roles, and talent management processes to drive business unit performance.

What You Need

8-10 years progressive HR experience preferably in ER

Certified Professional HR (PHR), SHRM- CP or Senior Professional HR (SPHR) preferred

Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations. Ability to establish strong partnerships with functional and business leaders to develop and execute on long and short-term HR strategies that directly support the business. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to professionalism timelines accuracy follow-through and anticipating business needs. Strong analytical problem-solving and project management skills. Innovative, future-oriented and open to new thoughts and ideas. Willing to challenge the status quo and be a strong influencer.

An essential function of this position requires the employee to perform their duties at a Toyota Tsusho America, Inc. facility to foster collaboration and innovation consistent with the Company’s philosophy of “kaizen,” as well as to facilitate team interactions, enhance learning and development, and support relationship building consistent with the Company’s value of “genchi, genbutsu, genjitsu” to see and understand where work is done This requirement may be altered temporarily based on the discretion of management when business needs and/or other conditions warrant an alteration.
