Human Resources Lead

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Contract Type: 3-Year Fixed Term

At Enko Education, we believe that education can transform lives. Following our recent acquisition of Kitengela International Schools (KISC), our network has grown to over 20 schools across 11 African countries. KISC is now a proud member of the Enko Education group, combining its long-standing local excellence in CBE and British International Curricula with our group’s global ambition to provide African youth access to the world's best universities.

We are looking for a dynamic HR Lead to serve as a strategic resource for our academic division. You will be the bridge between faculty development and organizational goals, ensuring our 222 teachers across 7 campuses are supported, engaged, and performing at their best. This is a "high-impact" role where you will balance operational excellence with strategic talent initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Partnership & Advisory

  • Align HR strategies with academic goals by collaborating with Heads of Schools and department heads.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior academic staff, providing guidance on workforce planning, policy interpretation, and organizational change.
  • Assist in drafting and managing the academic HR budget in line with school financial objectives.

2. Talent Acquisition & Management

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for academic staff, ensuring high-quality hires and a fast turnaround.
  • Drive initiatives to improve faculty well-being and engagement to maintain a stable retention rate (target attrition below 10%).

3. Performance & Professional Development

  • Harmonize performance appraisal tools across schools, transitioning current systems toward the Enko model.
  • Conduct training needs analyses and facilitate professional development opportunities (workshops, seminars) aligned with Enko’s quality standards.
  • Coordinate and implement the first formal performance reviews for Heads of Schools and their Deputies.

4. Employee Relations & Safeguarding

  • Manage faculty grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters with high emotional intelligence and fairness.
  • Serve as a champion for Child Safeguarding policies, ensuring all staff understand their duty of care and welfare responsibilities.

5. HR Operations & Analytics

  • Maintain accurate faculty records and oversee administrative functions such as health insurance schemes and staff welfare activities.
  • Leverage HR data and digital tools (Personio/MZZ) to generate reports on metrics like turnover, diversity, and satisfaction to support executive decision-making.
Your Profile: Who are we looking for?
  • Expertise: You have at least 5 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or managerial role where you regularly interacted with C-level leadership.
  • Certification: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field, and you are a member in good standing of the IHRM (CHRP Kenya).
  • Mindset: You are a "plug-and-play" professional—empathetic yet assertive, with the ability to stay calm and effective in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Skills: You possess strong analytical skills, are comfortable using HRIS/ERP systems to interpret data, and have a proven track record in problem-solving and change management.
What’s in it for you?

Joining KISC and Enko Education means being part of a mission-driven organization with a direct impact on the future of the continent. We offer:

  • Professional Growth: Opportunities for career advancement within a rapidly expanding international education group.
  • Work Environment: A collaborative, multicultural, and caring atmosphere where your autonomy is valued.
  • Benefits: A comprehensive package including health insurance for your family, significant tuition discounts for your children, and the chance to work with a global network of experts.
Recruitment Process
  1. Application: Please submit your application via our career portal and complete the required form.
  2. Initial Screening: A "fit interview" with the Enko Education Talent Acquisition team to get to know you.
  3. Internal Interviews: Comprehensive interviews with the KISC Operational and Leadership teams, which may include a psychometric assessment and a technical case study.
